“Before you hang up, I’m calling for Dazai. Ranpo-san told me to call you.”
It’s not that he hasn’t been listening before, but he does get a bit more interested in what Kunikida is talking about once he hears him saying it was about Dazai.
“Did something happen to him?” he’s quick to ask, almost cutting off the other.
“He’s not in any sort of danger.” Kunikida speaks, and Chuuya feels himself relaxing the tiniest bit upon hearing Dazai isn’t hurt nor injured, “He’s… okay, but he took a new case in and he’s been working a lot the past days, and he’s refusing to go home even though he’s clearly tired. Ranpo-san thinks Dazai will listen to you if you talk to him.”
He scoffs. “That idiot, still pulling off this shit.”
Or: Dazai overworks himself and Chuuya gets called to make him fix his fucked-up sleeping schedule.
