I spent my life in the shadow of his legend. And it wasn't until that night that I realized how true it is: wherever you go, there you are. Looking back now, I see how I had accepted it, and this night forced me to understand the depths of that.
The night of masks, gags, and bindings, of depravity more than I thought I could withstand, of the dark sharing with me the hiding place of anonymity only to teach me the true nature of its sanctuary. That was when I learned that the cruelest hands can feel like coming home, when I discovered my home for the first time and laid claim to it as my own, as much as it did me.

Five never was able to really relax into his life, “just being,” never had those blanketed, long stretches of complex wondering a normal preteen and teen go through to find themselves. Maybe that was more or less the reasoning behind his snarky nature to, well, everyone. He was jealous of the lives they all got to lead. He envied being able to find himself and actually be whoever that was.

It's Sam and Dean's last night together, before Sam leaves for Stanford. Dean is pouty and Sam wants to talk it out.
Sample: "It's too bad you chose to spend your last night at home with me instead of a girl."
Sam gives a curious look.
"I mean, if you showed up to the first day of college covered in hickies, it might help your social status."
Sam nods in agreement. "Huh. You're right. That probably would make me look cooler."
"You'd probably immediately be approached by
douchey frat bros. They do like recruiting the pretty boys."Sam chuckles agreeingly. Then it hits him. A crazy idea. He's nervous to ask, but considering he and Dean's especially close relationship, his older brother might say yes.

Summary
On the way to their uncle Beau’s, the Ratliffs visit Hoof-boot Creek, a tourist attraction surrounded by very mysterious disappearances, and when Saxon slips in while exploring, things aren't quite the same around him when he comes back out.
Saxon's brows furrow at the sound of the male voice coming from the other side of the door. It's not Lochy's, and it's definitely not his dad’s, but it's oddly familiar. So familiar, Saxon feels goosebumps break out across his skin.
That uncomfortable heat starts to slosh inside his stomach, pooling hot and thick, and when the front door suddenly pulls open, revealing his half-naked younger self on the other side, rubbing at his eyes sleepily, every hair on Saxon's body stands on end.

Summary
After Thailand, Lochlan and Saxon reconcile and find a way of living that makes them both happy. For a while their secret is safe and they can exist how they please, but after one poorly thought through decision during Saxon's heat he finds himself in a situation he's had nightmares about ever since he first presented. Lochlan and Saxon both quickly learn that they are not equipped to deal with this sort of thing on their own, but in spire of it all they decide to try.
(aka: Lochlan accidentally knocks up his big brother and it only escalates from there)
