Thoroughly endearing, disarming, and emotional insights into Ed's thoughts about sex with Stede. Beautiful writing. A perfect short fic. ❤️

Summary
Stede is divorced, rebuilding a life in the UK and working at Jim's non-profit community centre. His 6-month stay is running out and, well, turns out a fake marriage is an option to stay, because tropes are fun. Ed's got his own shit going on, you'll find out more in later chapters, but he thinks a sham marriage to this weird guy is probably going to at least be a bit of a laugh. Will update weekly.
---
“No, no, absolutely not, Lucius, you didn’t tell me he looked like that!”
“I don’t know what you mean.”
“Lucius!” Stede hisses. “He’s gorgeous, we are not doing this!”
Lucius is saying something but Stede honestly has no idea what it is because blood is pounding in his ears and the pub has almost entirely emptied and this night has very much gotten away from him and the most stunningly beautiful man has just walked in. And Stede has had four glasses of horrible wine and god, all that leather, and Christ almighty, look at his hair. His hair.

Bookmarker's Notes
Fake dating/sham marriage tropes at their best!
From convenience, to feelings, to love, to despair and back again, Mid-Century Modern is not only delightful and deep, it interrogates the wealth, class, and privilege differences between Stede and Ed and how their perspectives are shaped by them. The honesty and hard conversations that confronting these differences requires of Ed and Stede are written with a realness I have rarely seen in Stede/Ed fics.

Summary
After escaping the clutches of the English navy, Ed and Stede abandoned piracy to build a new life together, away from the danger and chaos of the world they’d left behind. But sailing off into the sunset could never be that simple. Not when you’ve scorned the most powerful empire on Earth. Not when you were once the most notorious pirate on the sea. And not when the Golden Age of piracy is finally reaching its inevitable and climactic end.

Bookmarker's Notes
Damn, y’all thought If You were Mine to Keep was delightfully hot and fraught with peril in the very best way? Pamplemousse has upped their game (and that is saying something!) As of this bookmark writing, we’re through chapter 10 and I burning to know what happens next! (Respectfully, no publishing timeline expectations. Seriously, just very excited about this story!).
If you’re looking for cannon-era cinematic romance, adventure, and plot-baby-plot! This is the story for you!

Summary
“I am helping, Ed Teach.” His grin is cocky.
“Stop calling me that.” Ed goes down another ladder, finding himself in a large space with cargo stacked to the ceiling. Fucking finally.
“Why? It’s your name.” The guy has followed Ed all the way down here.
Ed sighs as he sets down the bale. “Yeah, but you don’t have to use all of it. Just call me Ed.”
“All right, Ed.”
Ed waits, but he doesn’t say anything more. “Aren’t you gonna tell me your name?”
“Ooo, interested in me, are you?” He waggles his eyebrows.
Ed rolls his eyes. “Do you really not know how society works?”
“Oh, I do.” The guy grabs a beam above his head, swinging his body toward Ed. “I just don’t much like playing by its rules.”
A story of Edward Teach and Jack Rackham, the two youngest pirates in Captain Hornigold's crew. Friendship, fucking, and fighting. Maybe some fuckery.

Bookmarker's Notes
This is the early Ed & Jack story we all need! It is sooooo gooood!!!!!!
Tardigrape’s insights into Ed’s and Jack’s characters - how they grow and change - the nuance and complexity of their relationship - is so well done. It’s also a thrilling adventure full of suspense, action, risk and reward. Speaking of action, rare is the fic that achieves so much plot and character development via sex scenes but this one absolutely does! There is so much passion, emotion, yearning and uncertainty in these senes - it’s a very heady mix, and quite affecting.
This story works beautifully with canon. Within it, we find all the motivations for how Jack and Ed interact in Our Flag Means Death. Tardigrape does this so well that the reader is able to fill in the gap between where this story ends and when Ed and Jack meet again in OFMD. We can clearly imagine the timeline we don’t see.
Get yer eyes on this and feed it to your brain, friends. It is so worth it!

Summary
The problem with being a bone achingly lonely gay guy in his late forties with a mum whose favourite book was historical softcore porn was, more and more with every passing year, she would use her subtlest, most casual voice (which wasn't really either) to say stuff like:
"I think you should find someone like Tristan."

Bookmarker's Notes
I cannot adequately express how utterly charming, fulfilling, and delightful this story is. It feels like a joy infusion.
Two professionals living their lives with optimistic-tempered realism and a touch of whimsy. The quiet hopefulness for love always wanted but never had. A chance meeting, a book, a lightest-touch comedy of errors, a sweet, earnest, triumphant, oh-soy-joyful validation. A dream that would have never dared to come true realized, because two people saw each other and said yes in the most authentic of ways.
I am in love with Stolen by the Gentleman Thief ♥️
