The year is 2008 and Grantaire has a fucking headache.
Though, really, that is his fault entirely.
Drinking liquor stores is, to be fair, the only way he can get drunk. Being an angel and all. It's terribly inconvenient, this he knows well, but the price to pay for having a shitty ass fucking life and also wings. (The wings are pretty sweet, he'll concede to that point. But the rest sucks.)
Now, one might be confused as to why an angel of the Lord, our Father who art in Heaven, would be getting drunk. The answer is rather simple: not only does being an angel suck, but everything else does as well.
(Author's note: I kinda just used SPN, but I'm like 90% i misremembered some details. to be fair, i'm in my les mis hyperfixiation, not spn. fourteen-year-old me would slap me, but i'll live. feel free to scroll past if this isn't your vibe.)

Ever since Noel Gruber was a little boy, he's wanted one thing. Hanahaki disease. He's wanted to feel love so overwhelming, and so impossible, that it literally drowns him from the inside out. He wants to die for his love, and he wants it to be slow and painful and inevitable. He wants a drawn-out tragedy of suffocating on something beautiful, choking on his own love, flowers blooming deep in his chest.
Unfortunately, in the small town of Uranium City, he only sees Hanahaki disease through misleading videos set in faraway cities. And all he seems capable of finding around him is boring lung infections.
