Summary
Lloyd Garmadon has never been the best with feelings. Most of the time they're a jumbled mess that he tries to desperately untangle, and he usually fails. When him, Sora, and Arin crash the new Land Bounty while searching for Ras they find something (or should I say someone) that only tightens this knot: Akita, who is undeniably over-joyed to finally see Lloyd again after all these years. She hasn't changed much in appearance, but now that she's not busy plotting the downfall of a tyrannical emperor with control over ice she seems a lot softer.
Arin and Sora haven't really had a problem with feelings like Lloyd's, given that they don't really know what romance is. Is it marriage? Is it some stage in between? When do people stop being friends and become something else? Neither of them know the answer, and as they spend time with Akita and Lloyd they start needing these questions resolved.
But seeing Akita makes Lloyd's head spin, he still doesn't really know how he feels about her, and whether it's stupid to assume she ever really liked him like that. After all the things he's done, would she really like him? His heart hopes so, but his thoughts tell him otherwise.

Akita despite her orders to kill the oni emperor and return his horns and armor in exchange for her people to be revived, finds herself growing much closer than expected to the heir to the oni empire Prince Lloyd.

The AU does have a bit of backstory but you figure it out as you read.

The Systarians really DID brainwash Emmet’s friends, and once they figure this out, Rex and Emmet have to work to save them, even if Rex is still working through some issues involving those friends along the way.

“Huh?” She asks, in fully genuine confusion. They both stare at each other, blinking slowly. He notices she stopped pushing her claws towards him. He pauses…and immediately pushes her off him, jumping as far as he can. “Okay! See you again! Bye bye!” He calls out, his voice lowering as he gains distance. She groans, adjusting her position. To the forest she goes. Where she lost her brother.

Lloyd Garmadon was left at darkley boarding school for bad boys when he was young, he grew up there, he was molded by darkleys, he remembers seeing his own father fighting a girl named Harumi on TV, he remembers the distraught he felt when no one came to pick him up even though his father was cured from the evil in his blood and became a sensei, he remembers the heat from when the fire started in the classroom, he remembers how it spread to the old wooden walls etched with the memories of the past students faster than anyone could put it out, he remembers the pain of the wooden support beam falling on his arm crushing it, he remembers the smell of burning flesh, he remembers how he barley survived and how he ran away, he remembers the struggle to live on the street, but that was years ago, Lloyd Garmadon was no longer a small child, he was now a 17 year old raising 2 small children who he adopted, Arin had his parents kidnapped and Sora was in a abusive household, they now live in stiix where Lloyd is happy, until he receives news that his father with the ninja are looking for him and trouble follows.
