Yes, it would be tonight of all times, wouldn’t it? Leon could have chalked it up to wishful thinking or perhaps paranoia. But his gut sensed it. A sixth sense formed to anticipate this entity attached to him.
It was a spell of the night: a moonless sky, petrichor suspended in the air, the discreet passing of wind through wet trees. Akin to a spectre, she was only to appear when the circumstances deemed it right.
Leon remained there in front of the open refrigerator door, crouched in a low squat with his back to the presence hovering behind him. He could already hear the resonance of her voice echoing from his memories before she spoke.
“Hey there, stranger.”
On a rainy April night, Leon wanders through a liquor store. Plagued by insomnia, he seeks comfort for his ailments. As usual, Ada Wong arrives when Leon needs her most.

Summary
At every glance, he saw a part of her: a glint of pale skin, crimson lips spread in an all-knowing smile, the swish of a red dress, and short, raven hair. It was as though his mind were attempting to conjure her now, to cement her into reality.
She was akin to a curse. Or was she a blessing? There was a fine line between the two.
That woman plagued his mind, infiltrated his senses until he could not exist without finding a piece of her on every inch of this earth. Like stardust, strewn across the world to catch his eye with its fine twinkle demanding his attention. Like petrichor, a scent to anticipate after a storm.

On a long drive across states to visit his estranged, sickly mother, Ben stops in a small midwestern town to rest. After impulsively sitting in on a Church sermon, he meets Rey, an equally lonesome individual seeking an answer to cure her emotional wounds like he is.
✞Before coming here, Ben knew that no church or sermon could ever make him believe in an omniscient deity above the earth. He wasn’t sure why he bothered stepping foot in such a space. A way to absolve himself of guilt? To prove to whatever forces existed in the universe that he felt remorse for ruining his mother’s life from birth. Was it hope? By stepping through these doors and listening—somewhat—to the word of a potential God, maybe a secret part of him was holding out for a bestowment of divine intervention.

Ada pressed a hand against the glass door, her palm caressing the wavering shape of Leon's cheek. She knew better, was trained to always be better, but she wanted to relent and abide in this unconventional union. How laughable it was that she could brave the tempest of blood and horror but could not face the truth of her treacherous, beating heart.
There would be no fight tonight, not between the two of them, and not within herself. She would not run.
“Ada.” The shower door slid aside only a crack, revealing a solemn blue eye.
“Hey, handsome.” She greeted him with a small, close-lipped smile. -

It had been months since Rey had last seen Ben. That phantom force of him had trailed after her ever since. But today, mere days after dreaming of his damned self, she felt him. Not in the lingering chill of empty rooms nor conjurations of air, but in his totality. It was as if a gust of air had rushed into her lungs, enabling her breath to come with ease. The hollow pit in her chest became filled.
Not a phantom at all, Rey realized, turning her head from where she sat on her chair. Leaning against the doorframe to her room, a dispassionate expression upon his face, was her sworn enemy. A label thrust upon him by the Resistance, one she couldn't bring herself to adopt despite the truth of it.

On a restless night, Elsa encounters a peculiar young man amidst the winter snow.
“Where do you come from?” Elsa gasped.
“The moon.” She peered at him with a seemingly keen interest.
“That's not possible.”
“Of course it is. The man in the moon brought me here.” Perhaps he was also an eccentric poet, Elsa mused.
“Where do you come from?” he asked in turn.
“My mother and father of course,” she said wryly.
“I would say you come from the white of winter.” A close-lipped smile threatened to break through the firm line of her mouth. -

For Ichigo’s 18th birthday, the team takes her to a countryside villa in hopes that she can fully recover from her year long heartbreak. Now a film photographer hobbyist, Ryou documents their days spent upon this getaway. Though, there is much more that Ryou wishes to convey to Ichigo that cannot be told only through 35mm film.

Upon shopping for Christmas gifts, Ichigo stumbles into Ryou, who gives her applicable relationship advice:
“Here’s a word of advice. If you love someone, you shouldn’t be afraid to be who you are. You shouldn’t have to act like a different person or hide parts of yourself away for fear of shame or rejection.” He spoke softly now, his voice kind instead of taunting.
“I don’t want to be too much,” she confessed.
“Never apologize for who you are, Ichigo.”

Summary
His laundry cart had bumped into her own, which had bumped into her, resulting in Rey stumbling forward into the machine.
It was a brief interaction. “My apologies,” he said. She had only studied his face for a few seconds before he continued down the aisle, pushing his cart with its stiff, aged wheel, the faint sound of scraping following his footsteps.
She liked the sway of his presence, how he had consumed the entirety of her focus in that brief collision. How it had felt like time had slowed in that moment as his hooded eyes passed over her own.

The green of the earth did not grow without the water from the sky. And he did not feel alone with the gentle caress of her hand against his cheek. Such was the way of life.

Summary
There is a storm outside, and Ichigo just so happens to be unable to go home. She spends the night with Ryou, sharing his bed:
“You’re no gentleman making a lady sleep on the floor,” she remarked.
“I’m not making you sleep on the floor,” Ryou gestured to a pile of clothing against the wall. Ichigo made a sour face once again. He held his hands up in mock defense.
“You’re free to sleep on the bed,” he assured. Then, he began taking off his shirt. “With me in it.” -

After a late night of work, Ryou drives Ichigo home:
They stood side by side in silence, watching a group of clouds roll over the crescent moon. In the near dark, Ryou could see how Ichigo’s face was at ease. There was no frown on her face, like when he’d tease her to no end. There was no angry furrow of her brow. Nor did she have the hard glint in her eyes that shadowed her face during turbulent battles. Beautiful, Ryou thought.

“In another lifetime, perhaps,” Ben said ruefully. “You know that this connection is right. Don’t deny it, Rey.” The pulse in her throat jumped at the sound of her name on his tongue. “In another world, you and I would still be tethered.”
“A world where I’m not a Jedi,” she marveled wistfully. “And one where you’re not a Jedi killer.”
“Where I’m not a killer,” he echoed.
In a world where you are mine, and I am yours, Rey thought. Without the force of destiny to say who we are or what we must do. It would simply be us.
“It will always be us.” The last of her thoughts escaped her lips. But the quiet vibration that hummed through her body told her that he heard as much as felt the rest of her thoughts.
