Summary
As time passes beyond the end of the Infection, the Hive has recovered enough for its knight to take a little vacation now and then. The neighbors are always happy to host him for a visit—sometimes in more ways than one. A certain ant is especially eager to have him over for a meal, and regardless of what that might mean, the Hive Knight is happy to oblige.
Even if the time off turns out a little more draining than he'd anticipated. It's worth it.

Everything went better than expected, the Radiance was defeated more or less, didn't even have to use the Pure Vessel or the dreamers, and now Hallownest was at peace, with minimum sacrifice. Summary
The Pale King was accustomed to receiving gifts. He in the early days of Hallownest was given many offerings regularly, though he amended the system later on so he did not get an overflow of small junk, no matter how well-intentioned it might be. The nobles of Hallownest still gave gifts, or at least tried to. He did not want for much, especially in terms of material goods, so they had little to offer him. There had been a few occasions with nobles where he suspected they had attempted to “subtly” bribe him. There were more than a few occasions actually. Perhaps he should get loyal Lurien to investigate for him.
Anyhaps, foreign gifts were rarer. The mantises were quite fine crafters with fungus stalks, managing to make weapon handles and structures as well as personalized trinkets, but the only thing he ever received from them was the monthly summons “to prove his worth” in combat he had been ignoring for centuries at this point. The Hive and Deepnest only gave “gifts” when they were not-so subtly hinting that they wanted something in return. Or they were just bugged.
Unn however, had never saw fit to gift him something(which he was fine with)
Until now.
Unn was gifting him a PERSON.

Summary
