Ed is a 47-year old CEO of Blackbeard's, the big resort in town. He's been terribly bored by it all for years, despite the huge success. Izzy has been pushing for yet another expansion, or even a second location – Ed's considering the latter on the off chance that would mean Izzy would run it and move far, far away. Ed's friendly with his employees, but doesn't have anyone to confide in other than Izzy, who's a diiiick.
