Summary
After Lady Carlisle’s accidental death, Wicky is called to the scene of the accident to clean up at Thornbridge Manor, an old manor house with many hidden secrets. Opening a suspicious chest in Lady Carlisle’s office, Wicky finds more than he bargained for.
“The unfortunate lady, I presume?” he asked and indicated the body bag with a nod of his head. “Looks… more intact than what I’d imagined, given what you told me had happened to her.” Even if it sounded rather grim but he had imagined Lady Carlisle to be little more than a great splat he would have to scrape off the floor and pointless decorative furniture.
“That’s her brother, Zachary Carlisle,” supplied PS Edwards helpfully. “He died last night.”

Wicky raised both eyebrows. “What, some golfer get himself murdered, did he?” he asked, intrigued despite himself.
Ruth shook her head. “No, this place isn’t technically part of the golf club anymore,” she told him, gesturing for him to follow her inside. “It’s mostly used to record a telly show. Taskmaster.”
“Task what?” Wicky said, distracted by the alarmingly large portrait of a pale, intimidating looking man hanging in the corridor. “Who the fuck is that?
“That’d be the Taskmaster,” someone said in a clipped tone nearby.

Summary
For the January prompt: Wicky is sent to a job in a theatre. An eccentric poet (Tim) is there for rehearsals, but takes poetic inspiration from the "giant cleaning man". Wicky is not a fan of his new poetic shadow.

Wicky cleans up a crime scene at a bird sanctuary.
"Ah, hello there," Wicky said, with a cheery, but respectful, smile. "Alex Horne, is it?"
The man tilted his head slightly, not unlike a bird, really. "Dr. Alex Horne, yes."
"Sorry. Doctor Horne." Wicky looked down at his clipboard, scribbling a quick 'Dr' in indecipherable writing beside the man's name. If there was one thing he'd learned over the years, it was that people could be very particular about their names and fancy titles, even in the face of death. -
