It wouldn't be the first time his 'mother' has paraded around her creations to her peers, and he figures this is just another showcase. He doesn't expect the freakishly big and serpentine Dr. Gideon, much less the apparent fascination the 'good' doctor has for him- or the one Karl would form towards their guest in kind, despite his better judgment.
