By the time the storm passes, and Flint returns sea-soaked and gleaming to the cabin, Silver’s in a state.
“I see you’ve found the rum,” remarks Flint, and he’s fucking smiling, and his voice is too damn loud, storm-loud, not yet acclimated to being indoors. It grates. Everything about Flint grates.
[Set between seasons 2 & 3. On the voyage back from Charlestown, Silver finds out it's Flint's birthday. He's not quite sure what to do with this information. He's also missing a leg, and he's not quite sure what to do about that, either.]

Then, to his horror, he sees his arm reach out before him—moving of its own accord—to ruffle Ochette’s hair. He’s not sure what he expects to happen: for Ochette to scramble away, for Castti to scream, for the heavens to open and strike him down—but Ochette just giggles and leans into his hand, and Castti gives them that soft, fond look she gets whenever Ochette does something cute. The heavens stay closed, for now.
