Astarion wakes up on a beach after being kidnapped by mind flayers. The first person he meets is a twitching, amnesiac elf who doesn’t even remember her own name. He intends to exploit that vulnerability to his advantage, refusing to let anyone else join their small group. (BG3 canon game from Astarion’s POV, retelling my duo run with my girl Amara and him as both rogues. Without the rest of the group to help, they only make each other worse).

They search for a way to walk under the sun while discovering what it is like to be, quite literally, a monster. His hunger, his new powers, his limitations... they will have to navigate all of it. Will Astarion seek a cure for his vampirism? Or is he too used to his powers to give them up?

PART 2:
After the events of Good Things Come.Astarion and Tav have solidified their roles in the Underdark with the other Spawn, as well as in Faerun. They realize there is still much more they can do to stop another Vampire lord, and help another of their Companions in the process.
A snippet of things to come:
Except Tav beat Astarion there and reached him first, and a wet SMACK sounded as Astarion's chest collided with her shoulder blades where she stood solidly between them.
For a moment, Astarion only saw red.
For a moment, Astarion heard nothing but the roaring, rushing sounds in his adept ears - that of the rolling sea, and Tav's blood catapulting through her arteries with her own anger.
Astarion's eyes focused and traced her form and up her extended arm, his lip twitching with the beginning of a snarl at the action that had been denied him, but the scent of Gale's blood hit his nose then. The odor was strong despite the pervading smell of salt in the surf that lapped along the shore at their feet.

Astarion’s eyes flutter with surprise. “I-I would like that. I’ve held more people than I can count. An infinite parade of lovers. But a friend?” He pauses on the question and his face becomes crestfallen. “I can’t think of a single one.”
He puts his hand out to Effy, to which she happily accepts.
“Until you,” he says with a smile—that only she’s ever seen.
Ever since that moment the two remained friends and even got an apartment together in the Lower City shortly after defeating the Netherbrain.
It’s been several months since; and Effy is still happily living with her vampire bestie, but Astarion’s been acting different lately…

Summary
After defeating the Absolute with Tav, Astarion is glad to have his beloved remain beside him. He didn’t expect it to be easy, living in the Underdark with his siblings and the other vampire spawn. Still, a new manuscript detailing vampire spawn has been discovered, and no one could expect to know what knowledge it reveals - about Cazador, about the other spawn.
Tav is a human Paladin, with an Oath of Devotion that has guided her and her companions through the events of Baldur’s Gate 3, saving as many beings as possible and protecting the weak and defenseless, as is her tenet. But she also has a secret that she has yet to tell anyone… That it’s time to tell Astarion …
But there is so much more to it than either of them know.
All things considered, even she doesn’t know how things will end for the two of them.Series
