"Look, there have been times when you and Kon have been... Saying some things. They weren't particularly nice things."
Shocked and confused, Tim's lips quivered into a one-sided smile. It was an awkward facial twitch that continued to hurt his cheek. Tim wasn't sure why he was smiling, but he knew it did not help with the current situation. Furrowing his eyebrows, he clenched his jaw in a way to relax.
It did not help.
Tim was sure what Bruce said was unrelated to the matter unless he was missing a few chapters? Was he? The overwhelming thoughts in his mind made him confused and unsure about anything right now.

Summary
Tim's dad is dead, killed by a boomerang to the chest, and Tim is an orphan now. He knows Bruce would adopt him if needed but he couldn't possibly impose himself on the Wayne's more than he already has. It's okay though, because he has a plan for this, he just needs someone to play the role of his estranged "Uncle Eddie".
Except... the guy he hires is weirdly concerned about his well being and Tim can't figure out why.
Meanwhile, Jason Todd is forced to reevaluate his plans for his debut as Red Hood, because, as it turns out, his replacement is a suicidal idiot who can't be trusted to stay out of trouble.
OR
Tim Drake fails to recognize Jason Todd, back from the dead, and hires him to be his Uncle Eddie to avoid getting adopted by Batman. Somehow this ruins everyone's plans.

“Horror made a blaster today,” Dust said, around a mouthful of toast. Killer perked up.
“Is that so?” Nightmare mused, and Cross couldn’t figure out why he sounded contemplative. Wasn’t that a good thing? That Horror’s magic was recovering enough for him to create blasters again?
“Huh-what?” he slurred, much to Nightmare’s amusement.
“The Hunt is on,” Nightmare said, and Cross’ mind finally pieced it all together.

Summary
In Book 2: The Skeleton Crew, we see our Reader break out of her shell and accept that she is Soulmate to three complicated skele-boys. The boys must learn to share. We’ll find out what happened to Skull all those years ago and why Sans isn’t happy about it. We’ll eat Nice Creams and watch Mettaton and stage a little bit of a prison break.
This is the second story in a series. You could start here… but honestly, you’re going to miss out on a lot of backstory and world-building to our gang of four, Reader, Sans, Red and Skull. I’m going to do my best to fill things in where I can, but it would be better to start with Saving Three Ex-Cell-ent Skeletons.

Your mum says you're a proactive control freak, but these skeleton should just take a step back and let you lead the way! They’re just begging for you to be spiteful at this point.
