Summary
It was always like this with Seonghwa. Or rather, with Hongjoong’s feelings towards him. He couldn’t allow himself too much. He had to keep himself under control, or he’d send the whole thing up in flames. So, he didn’t let himself go running home as soon as he was sure Yunho was on his train, he exercised restraint, he always had to keep that restraint.

Prince Seonghwa and Captain Hongjoong both have things they refuse to do.
Seonghwa refuses to die by a pirate’s hand, especially after being tossed in a ship’s brig to rot. Hongjoong refuses to tell his crew why he agreed to kidnap Aruna’s infamous second prince in the first place.
But if they could just throw a clean hit to the other’s face? Neither of them would refuse an opportunity like that.

Summary
"He was taught to win wars, not to fall in love."
General Kim Hongjoong is a man of ice.
Orphaned, hardened by the streets, and molded by the military, he has spent thirty-six years building a life of power where no one can ever hurt him again.
As a high-ranking commander in the Vietnam War, his only job is to lead, to fight, and to survive. He doesn't have room for feelings.
Until he meets Park Seonghwa.
In the middle of a brutal war and the endless jungle rain, Seonghwa is the only thing that feels like home.
But in 1970, their love isn't just a secret-it's a crime. Especially in a world of rigid military codes and a war that demands total loyalty, love is more than a distraction.
It's treason.
Loving Seonghwa means risking the rank Hongjoong bled to earn. It means choosing between the life he fought to build and the man he can't breathe without.
Now, the General faces his most brutal choice:
Does he protect the rank that saved him from poverty? Or does he burn it all down for a love that was never supposed to exist?

Bookmarker's Notes
It’s audacious to write about Vietnam war and I’m so glad this author did. The characters are intense and complicated. I love getting in their heads, especially Hongjoong and how obsessed about Seonghwa he is. I always get so much butterflies while reading…

Summary
Jeonghan can’t remember life before Choi Seungcheol. He also can’t remember if there’s ever been a moment he hasn’t spent loving him.

Bookmarker's Notes
So well written. It’s not even just about the love story, but also about the characters growth and how amazing you portrayed their deepest and rawest feelings and emotions. And of course the yearning, the absolute love the characters have for each other ; I savored it.
