Summary
Carefully Goro lifts the handle to get a better look at it; as he tilts the saber so the blade is pointed towards the ground, he hears the same sound again. Goro’s brows furrow, and he inspects the handle carefully.
Wait. The pommel—is it...loose?
Almost subconsciously he brings one hand up to the stubby cylinder that serves as the saber pommel and twists, and after a bit of effort, it properly screws off from the rest of the handle. Goro sets it aside and tilts the saber back again, and something slides out of the apparently-hollow handle, landing neatly in his hand.
Goro feels his heart stop for a moment—it’s a flashdrive.

Summary
Akechi had the perfect plan.
He'd been trailing the Thieves through Shido's palace for hours. They were getting tired, but kept pushing on nevertheless - and only needed one more letter of recommendation to open the door to Shido. Akechi would patiently let them do the dirty work for him. He would ambush them on their way back out, to give Joker his promised rematch and take the letters for himself after proving once and for all why he was better than all of them!
At least that had been his plan before the Thieves started to lose their current battle. Against a bunch of random Shadows, and yet they were making quick work of the Thieves. It was somehow not as satisfying to watch as he had imagined.
He watched them being taken down one after the other.
This wasn't good.
The leader of the Shadows raised his weapon to finish Joker off.
God-FUCKING-dammit!
Akechi dropped off his ledge and into the fray.
