“Yeah, what’s new?” Katsuki pokes the fragmented gauntlet. “Can you fix this for tomorrow? I’ve got work at eight AM.”
Izuku deadpans.
He takes a big breath and crosses his arms.
And Katsuki isn’t fucking looking at his biceps again, he’s fucking not, fuck off.
“I just fixed your gauntlets, Kacchan. Like, last week. What did you do this time? These are expensive, y’know!”
“Maybe if you made better shit they wouldn’t break so often.”
“Maybe if you came for maintenance more often like I told you to, they wouldn’t break so often.”
“I’m busy.” Katsuki shrugs.
Izuku gripes like he’s fed up with him (he’s not) and starts picking up the disjointed pieces.
“Ugh, these are wrecked.” He holds one up close to his face and scrutinizes it. “It’s gonna take me all night.”
“You’re here anyway, aren’t you?”

Summary
Faint crackling electricity, like the fabric of a windbreaker rubbing against itself, covering the sound of shifting rubble and settling dust. It’s a sound Katsuki’s heard a thousand times before, usually preceded with a shout from Deku saying One For All-
“Full Cowling,” Katsuki whispers, staring and grasping for words. “What the fuck.”
Deku is standing near Katsuki’s feet, back bowed forward like Atlas and body lit up with a green so bright it’s incandescent. Blackwhip escapes from his arms in countless tendrils, lightning arcs off his body every second, and there’s a faint tremble running through his legs.
He’s terrifying. He’s beautiful.
He’s holding the fucking building on his shoulders.

As Midoriya struggles to keep them both alive, refusing to give even an inch, Bakugou realizes some crucial things and refuses to leave without Midoriya by his side.

“Please, Katsuki,” Izuku says quieter now, sinking back against the car door, “I cannot do this with you right now. I just can’t. We can’t change what’s already happened and, frankly, I wouldn’t want to. I’m glad you’re able to live your dream and-”
“But what if I’m not?” Katsuki interrupts him, a grim look on his face, “What if I’m fucking tired of this shit? What if I’m tired of people picking and prodding at me all day? What if I’m tired of reading shit about me online? I love acting, don’t get me wrong. The damn thing’s my passion but what if I love you more?”
“Katsuki…” The word comes out slowly and carefully from Izuku’s mouth, just barely sneaking past his lips.
Katsuki replies, a bit more confident than Izuku himself, “Izuku.”
They stare into each other’s eyes for a little while, neither of them breaking eye contact and neither of them really wanting to.

OR, Katsuki comes back to Japan for the holidays every year and makes sure to spend as much of it as possible with Izuku but, this time, something changes.

Summary
“Honestly Deku, I really couldn’t care less that you have a girlfriend.”
Silence fell upon the room as Izuku gave him a look he couldn’t quite decipher. “...What are you trying to say?” Izuku finally questioned after several moments, carefully.
Shit.
Katsuki has been pining for years after Izuku. He's softened up a bit, bankrolled a hero suit for the nerd, and gives lectures at UA whenever Izuku requests it. So when what he thought was a dream they shared doesn't pan out like he'd planned, life goes in a direction Katsuki never would've expected.
A story told over five acts which leans heavily into the pain of three characters, with Katsuki's anguish being the focal-point. The happy ending and eventual comfort to the hurt exists for everyone, no matter how bleak things may seem at times, but this story will be gut-wrenching to read most of the chapters. If you aren't at least a bit of a masochist, this fic is probably not for you. You have been warned.
Oh, and the title of the fic is in part inspired by the song Scorpio Rising by Soccer Mommy, and also in part by, well, astrology.
