Midoriya Izuku was different.
He could see the people without legs and eyes, sometimes with only half their body, and some people with black shadows around them with wings. Sometimes he could see the white lights overcoming the black ones. But those black ones always hung around bad people.
So why was one holding onto his father?
Why did his dad say his mother wasn't there anymore, when she clearly was?
Oh, he would think.
That's why.
She wasn't.
Not physically, that is.
And so was everybody else who looked like her now. They were mere ethereal forms, but Izuku could see them.
But they couldn't do anything.
