Summary
There's a sinking feeling in Toya's chest that he wouldn't be able to recognize normally, but right now, as the stars are scattered above them and Akito's warmth is close enough to touch, he knows it's the thought of Akito needing more than him. The thought that Akito could give himself to someone for more than what Toya could give him as his partner.
They drink in silence, and the thought briefly crosses Toya's mind that this night would last for the rest of his life.
As the stars sear into his eyelids and Akito's warmth pulses next to him, Toya breathes out, “Akito. Please don't leave me. Ever.”-or-
Toya is forced to confront the true nature of his and Akito's relationship after Akito sends him a rather bold song late at night. Akito is forced to come to terms with his feelings for his partner.

The man in front of him was gorgeous, with two toned hair and slanted eyes, his face impassive and perfect. Akito’s mouth ran dry. The boy’s hair fell in wet clumps, perfectly framing his expression. Akito let his eyes wander down his porcelain skin, settling in the drop of his shoulder with awe. He was lean and beautiful, Akito had to pinch his forearm to make sure he wasn’t dreaming. He looked down further and saw the shining tail, tangled with his previously set net. It was illuminating the water of its soft blue hue.
“I’m sorry…” the mermaid finally spoke, bringing Akito out of his stupor. “I’m… stuck.”

Summary
Touya was like a crow. A crow with clipped wings, wanting to fly away.
If that bird- Touya, needed help, to have someone to look after him, Kanade would gladly play that role. Even if she herself felt like a bird trapped in a cage, wanting to escape this wretched life.
Maybe Touya couldn't let her out, but she'd at least have company until she met her untimely end. And to Kanade, that was enough for her.
