Summary
Half expecting to see him at his desk, Regrator walks into Zandik’s office and sits in the opposite chair, trying to stave off his disappointment in the dark. The room is dead silent, the desk empty, the chalkboards clean and blank. Regrator is left with nothing but the acrid, bitter aftertaste of being left behind. Lifetimes and lifetimes spliced together, moments of vulnerability and victories, camaraderie, bickering, and countless more of their strange, steadfast companionship. Dottore was his constant for better or for worse. Feofan can hardly remember a life without him. And as much as this was planned, knowing something is imminent is quite different than stepping through the threshold.
Pantalone returns home in the wake of Irminsul's burning.

Pantalone came to Dottore about an inquiry on his next experiment. Dottore, who had already been plotting behind his back, agreed to get it started on right away..
The sapphire painted walls reflected the dimmed lights of the lab. It is quiet, with the occasional clashing of glasses being placed onto the marbled table and a long sigh coming from the individual within. Quiet nights like these were certainly not unfamiliar to the second of the Fatui harbingers. Nobody usually bothered to come and visit him inside his laboratory, apart from the ninth harbinger, The Regrator. The pair were commander and subordinate, until The Regrator lived up to The Doctor’s recommendation, and made it as a respected harbinger of the Fatui with his own skill. The laboratory air is cold, with a mortuary just a room away, it would give anyone a cold chill had they waltzed in unprepared. Dottore lifted a thin vial, with a strange luminous liquid inside it, tilting it to the side. His expression was sheltered by the pointy mask that sat on his nose, but underneath it was a gaze full of curiosity. Per usual, he was experimenting. With even the smallest results, he was not satisfied. Dottore was a man of perfection, after all.

“Wait a moment, Dottore,” Pantalone grumbled under his breath as he was taken into a secluded room. The air was dry and had no signs of life other than the dull furniture. A single bed stood in the middle of the room. It was messily done and stood away from the other furniture, which consisted of a cabinet and a set of drawers. “What’s going on here?”
“Sit down and I will explain.”
Dottore gestured to the bed in the center of the room, a wide grin spreading across his face.
“I refuse to follow your orders until you tell me what’s going on.”
“You refuse?” Dottores smile faltered for a moment. “Oh dear.”

Summary
The first time Pantalone met the harbingers, it was at his inauguration.
Most of them would look at him and see a man who owns everything. A man who holds the world in his palm. A man of slim stature and soft features who must have never done a hard day's labor in his life.
Despite how believable that may seem, it could not be further from the truth. In reality things were much less comfortable and a good bit more bloody.
