Grace was promised two scientists. After Tom Sully is killed and replaced with his twin Brother, Jake Sully, she is pissed. She knew she was going to hate the man. He was a cocky, ex- marine the got a free ride to Pandora. He didn’t know anything, completely useless.
Grace vowed after the school house shooting two years ago she would never let herself get close to anyone again. Slowly though, as the months pass a certain person begins to win over her heart.

So @thecourtofgraywaves on tumblr gave me this idea to write a fic where beetle juice and Cisserus (from Vamps 2012) fight over Lydia. That’s exactly what this is gonna be so yea enjoy!
Lydia is lonely after her parents’ deaths and Astrid leaves for college. She needs someone to talk to. With everyday that passes the urge to call out to a certain name grows stronger and stronger. When she is at her lowest point a mysterious woman sits beside her drawing her in. Will Lydia succumb to calling his name or will this woman be enough to distract her?
Or… will she want both.

Stratt ducked her head for a moment, and Ryland felt his smile grow. That was a clear sign she was laughing— probably one of those huffy, sigh-laughs she did when he cracked a joke just dumb enough to get good reaction out of her.
"I decided to get some fresh air," she parroted, leaning down a bit more. "And I'm not, not looking for company, Dr. Grace."
Or: Grace can’t quite get to sleep. Stratt (apparently) doesn’t sleep at all. This goes surprisingly well for both of them.

Summary
Stratt gets through the launch. Time expands again and the weight of the choices she has been forced to make hits her like a mac truck. She forces herself to move onto the next phase of the mission while eagerly awaiting the moment the tables turn and someone realizes she ought to be in jail cell.
The universe (and Grace and Carl) have other plans for her however, and she's handed a far more challenging task then laying still for a lethal injection.
She was prepared to be the whipping boy if it would save the planet. Unfortunately for her there is no end to what a living world will demand of you. Instead of being handed a death sentence she is handed more responsibility by the one person who ought to know better than to trust her with anything. It just might be what saves her.
OR
get in losers we're gonna beat up stratt a little (because we love her) and then we're gonna throw a 6th grader at her for sport.

The timer she’s set still has a minute and 27 seconds left when Eva decides to text Grace, summoning him to her quarters. It makes no sense to wait the remaining time out. Not when the stupid piece of plastic has the clearest and brightest 2 lines she’s ever seen. She doesn’t have much to go by, she’s never actually taken a pregnancy test before, but there’s no mistaking it for anything but what it is. Of course her first time would be now: at 43 years old and in the middle of trying to save humanity from extinction. Of course.

When a heavy storm hits the ship, Grace and Stratt find themselves forced into close proximity and repressed feelings accidentally come to the surface.
This changes some things, and spans over thirty years.—
(June; Ryland and Dr Lokken are flown to remote Alaska to participate in preliminary engine testing using astrophage fuel; they spend two weeks in the wilderness, evading bears and trying not to get into shouting matches in front of everyone. Rasmussen installs the improved and approved o-rings. Ryland discovers that he misses falling asleep with Eva in his bed. The first round of testing is successful; the night he returns to the ship, he and Eva fuck three times and end up talking instead of sleeping, anyway. She tells him that she missed him. He thinks that he might love her.)
(In July they nuke Antarctica. It’s hard to top that one.)
