He remembered it exactly, lying with his head resting in Dustin’s lap, covered in fresh, heavily bleeding bat bites, and the rest of the group finding him like that. But then, another of his memories resurfaced. One that had previously been hidden deep in his mind, so deep that he hadn’t even realized it was there. A memory of the last words he had heard right before the pain and exhaustion made him unconscious. Steve’s words. "Eddie, don’t worry, we’ll get you out of here. Just hold on, please. It’s gonna be ok."
...From now on, former king of Hawkins High Steve Harrington and the local metalhead weirdo Eddie Munson will have matching demobat scars forever. But this isn’t the only thing that connects them.
