Hawkins 1987
It hadn’t been that long since the events with Vecna happened.
It was like everything that happened quickly had suddenly finished quickly - Eddie will never forget how he tried to fight the demobats and how much of the wounds he sustained from trying to fend them off. He had been working on his recovery every day since that happened, while lucky for him, Steve kept on visiting him to check in with how he was doing, at the house that Eddie and his Uncle Wayne had gotten from the government since Eddie’s trailer was split in half.
Whenever Eddie needed help with putting on the ointment for the bites and wounds he had sustained along with changing the bandaids, Steve was there to help him out, it felt like Steve was Eddie’s personal nurse which was cute. He smiled from the fact that he had him to keep him company, while he recovered. That was the beginning of when Eddie and Steve’s relationship had begun to grow more and more as they spent more time together, how much they enjoyed each other’s company. It felt nice. Eddie always had Steve on his mind, he couldn’t stop thinking about just how much of a sweetheart he truly was - while Steve on the other hand saw how Eddie would always put a smile on his face; he only wanted to spend more time with him more and more.
They both had confessed that they liked each other, which started the beginning of a beautiful relationship between the two of them.
Being the best boyfriend he could be, Steve always made sure that he would go over to see Eddie, he would always sleep with him as due to Eddie’s anxiety and nightmares he had, all he wanted to do was make sure that he got enough sleep, that he felt at ease knowing that Steve was right next to him as he slept, and that he would be right next to him when he would wake up. Eddie loved knowing the fact that his boyfriend gave him so much comfort, Steve was all that he could ask for; he loved him so much, Steve loved Eddie very much, all they needed was each other.

Steve was currently at the radio station, organising a few things for Robin’s next appearance on the air while she was currently on a date with Vicki, Robin wanted to make it up to Vicki after everything that had happened, so she was very lucky that Vicki was available to go out on a date.
While Robin was out on that date, Steve was by himself at the radio station, he had some music playing in the background on the radio he had while enjoying some coffee that he made for himself as he looked at the next scripts. What he didn’t know was that Eddie had arrived since he decided that he wanted to pay Steve a little visit since he knew that he would be there already - as Eddie entered, he could hear the music playing in the background on the radio while he saw his boyfriend. All by himself as he drank some coffee while looking at the scripts as he had that smile on his face as he watched him.
Steve was too busy reading before he could hear footsteps of someone walking in, he put his coffee down before getting up then walking out of the room to see Eddie, “Oh hey Ed’s, is everything alright?” Steve asked as he walked up to Eddie, grabbing and holding his hand gently. Steve was clearly worried about his boyfriend, wanting to make sure that he was alright and that nothing had happened.
Eddie leans against the wall with that smile still on his face, as he holds Steve’s hand back gently, rubbing the back of Steve’s hand with his thumb while looking at him; Eddie always appreciated just how much his boyfriend cares about him, he made his heart skip a beat from just how cute he was. “So adorable that you’re still looking out for me. I just wanted to come visit you and to also keep you company,” Steve smiled as he pulled Eddie closer to him by his hand as he held him close by his waist, looking up into Eddie’s beautiful eyes as he would say, he could easily get lost in them for hours.
“Hah- That’s sweet of you. There’s… Not much happening to be honest, it’s been quite boring…” As he felt Steve pull him in closer before holding him by the waist, Eddie’s smile turned into a smirk as puts his arm around Steve’s neck, they both looked into each other’s eyes as he did so, “Well, aren’t you lucky that I got here by sheer coincidence?” Eddie chuckled lowly, making Steve roll his eyes. “Yeah sure. A ‘coincidence’… You know, I do have the whole place here to myself, Robs is out all day today.” Steve leans in, kissing Eddie softly with two of his fingers holding his chin up. Eddie kisses him back softly as he felt how Steve’s two fingers held up his chin as they shared a kiss.
He really loved just how bold Steve could be whenever he decided to be, Eddie thought how hot it was whenever his boyfriend could take the lead sometimes. “Aren’t you lucky Harrington? You’re.. All by yourself and you have.. Your boyfriend.. Paying you a visit.” Eddie spoke between their kisses while Steve kept Eddie very close to him, moving his hand back down to Eddie’s waist, “Only a visit…? Why don’t you stay, hmm? Unless… You have things to do.. Of course.”
Moving his other arm to wrap around Steve’s neck, Eddie teasingly bit Steve’s bottom lip as they kissed, he was starting to get a little turned on from the way that Steve’s hands were starting to roam a little. There was nothing else for him to do, nothing besides just being with him and keeping him company is all, they both pulled away to catch their breaths a little as Eddie spoke “Things to do… Hmm.. The only thing I’m doing right now… Is staying with you.” Steve smiled as he said that, it was a good thing that his boyfriend wasn’t doing anything else or wasn’t busy, he probably would have been bored the whole time he was here by himself, “Oh well thank god.. I don’t think I would’ve survived without my little freak.” Steve pulled Eddie back closer to him as they started to kiss again.
He could feel Eddie’s lips turn into a flirty grin, with Eddie moving his hand so that he was gripping the back of his hair gently, a little part of him wishing he could grip a little more harder, he was already becoming a mess because of Eddie. “Your little freak. I like the sound of that.” Eddie chuckled as he really leaned into the kiss while Steve chuckled back, fuck did he love the sound of his voice. Steve cups Eddie’s face as he continues to kiss him, and he got his wish, as Eddie’s grip on his hair had become a little bit harder as he leaned him against the wall, he continued to kiss him as he managed to speak in between their kisses.
“Is this what you.. Wanted to do? Just.. Make out with me.. The entire time.. I’m here with you?” Eddie could be such a flirt with Steve whenever he would be with him. He knew the exact words to say that would easily make Steve go weak in the knees for him, especially when they had their private time together. Yeah, it was very easy to say that he was so fucked, Eddie knew the right words, the right spots that would make him moan, and the right way to say the words properly that would only make Steve want Eddie even more. “Well no.. I just really like kissing you… Unless.. You had some ideas…?” Steve wrapped both of his arms around Eddie’s neck as they kissed for a few more seconds before Eddie pulled away, they could both hear their breaths as they stared into each other’s eyes.
Lifting Steve up by his chin, Eddie leans down to Steve’s neck where he starts to teasingly bite him before placing a kiss where he had bit him, Eddie already knew that Steve would go crazy from the way that he would bite him, “Why don’t you tell me, baby.”
Steve started to blush, “Mhmm well.. I’d be up for anything to avoid that paperwork..” His fingers started to thread in Eddie’s hair, pulling him back in as he mouth opened slightly from feeling Eddie’s breath against his skin - his knuckles turning white a little from gripping his beautiful hair more, “Anything to avoid the paperwork huh? So you won’t mind throwing those papers down on the floor?” Eddie starts to kiss Steve’s neck again, he could hear Steve’s breath start to become heavy and he took advantage of that. He bites down on his neck before sucking on the same spot where he bit him.
“Mmm.. Let me at least- move them..” Eddie pulls away from Steve’s neck, giving him a quick kiss on the lips, sucking on his bottom lip for a little bit, “Don’t let me stop you then.” Steve finally pulls away from Eddie, he walks towards the table where he moved the papers to the cabinet then, he goes back and sits up on the table, motioning for Eddie to come to him.
“Come on you…”
“You don’t have to tell me twice.”
Eddie walks over to Steve, he gets in between his legs then grabs him by his shirt as he is the one to this time pull him in for a kiss, only this time, this kiss was more passionate than the last two. He really makes it more passionate with how he attacks his lips, letting his hands wander up and down Steve’s arms before resting one hand on his hip then moving the other up past his chest towards the back of his neck. Steve had really melted into the kiss and Eddie’s touch, wrapping his arms around Eddie's waist where he pulled him in more before fiddling with the chain that was on Eddie’s belt. Deepening the kiss, Eddie moves his hand that was on Steve’s waist to then move it under Steve’s shirt where he gently touches his chest, his fingertips gently grazing his skin, cause Steve to gasp a little before he eventually pulled away for a breather, he leaned against Eddie while continuing to hold his waist.
“Doing okay there Stevie?” Eddie places a kiss on Steve’s head, he cupped his cheek with his hand, he could feel Steve nod against him, “Yeah.. Just needed some air- but I’m good.” Eddie gently lifts up Steve’s face by his chin where he places a kiss on his cheek, resting his forehead against Steve’s.
“Tell me to keep going baby, and I will.”
Steve’s breath starts to become heavy once again, “Keep going Ed’s.” He pulls Eddie in closer once again.
Eddie leans in, this time moving closer where he ghosts his lips over Steve’s, hovering over his as he spoke, “Tell me what you want me to do Stevie.” all he wanted to say to Eddie was for him to do more, then again, he had to control himself as he didn’t want Robin to kill him if she found out what they did in here, if Steve were to actually go through with this, “More kissing.. We probably shouldn’t uh.. Do anything else here.. Robs might kill me if she finds out.” Eddie didn’t mind kissing Steve more, it was one of his favourite things to do with him, all he wanted to do was make sure that he kept Steve occupied.
“Heh, I don’t mind just kissing that pretty face of yours for now.” Eddie captures Steve’s lips once again, he starts to kiss him gently before becoming a bit more passionate with his kisses just like from before, “When… Does Robin come back?” Steve had practically melted into the kiss, he loved kissing Eddie so fucking much, he could do it all day if he could, with Eddie wanting to do the same back. He glances up at the clock for a split second before speaking in between kisses, “Mm.. Around 2.. Hours..”
Steve continues to crash his lips against Eddie’s, he just wanted more, “2 hours..” Eddie’s grip on Steve’s waist started to tighten a little as he bites the bottom of his lip before starting to become a bit more frantic with his kisses, Eddie wanted to make sure that Steve would be losing his breath from the way they were currently making out, which shouldn’t be hard for him to do, “2 hours… Of kissing…. Unless.. You need to- Do the paperwork..” Eddie teased him, which made Steve practically roll his eyes from underneath his eyelids, his smile widening a little, “ Mm- The paperwork.. Can do itself later..” Eddie laughed to himself from how much he made Steve crave him more.
“I must be a.. Good influence on you then.”
Pulling away from Steve’s lips, he makes him roll his head back, where he leans in and goes back to kissing Steve’s neck - he did the regular pattern of kissing, sucking and biting different spots on his neck, where he got to hear those sweet sweet sounds Steve would make just for him, “You’re too addictive.. You know that?” Steve sighed with content, he was enjoying Eddie’s touch and the way that he started to paint his skin with the marks that he started to leave on him, that he would be proud to wear and not cover up in public, to show everyone just who did these marks on him, and just who he belonged to, “Mm.. My apologies.. Didn’t mean to be.. So addictive..” Steve teased him back which caused Eddie to start licking his lips, chuckling again as his lips floated over his skin, “Heh, it only makes me crave you more.” Eddie started to leave a hickey on Steve’s neck, kissing and sucking on his skin to really make sure it was visible.
After leaving a hickey on his neck, Eddie then proceeds to lick the spot where he left the mark, before he bit the same spot - Steve held him closer, with little noises of pleasure starting to escape his mouth from how much attention Eddie was giving his neck, “Fuck Eddie.. You really love to bite- hm..” he gives Steve a teasing bite then moving to another spot on his neck, his lips inching more and more closer towards his skin again, “You love it. You love when your little freak just marks you up.”
This time, Eddie starts to bite all over Steve’s neck, starting to leave some bite marks across, just like with how he did with the hickeys from before, he only wanted to paint his skin with his hickeys and bite marks even more. “Mm- Yep.. You got me there.. I love it..” Eddie was Steve’s personal vampire, he was the only person who he would love to bite all day and night, it was something that he really loved whenever he would let him do that to him; Steve’s fingers thread through Eddie’s hair, pulling him back into a kiss - where Eddie grips Steve’s hair as they make out once more, slamming his hand down on the table where he grips it as he grips Steve’s hair with his other hand, making out with him.
“You have no idea.. How much.. I just want.. To leave marks.. On you.” this time it was Steve’s turn to slightly tug on Eddie’s bottom lip which caused Eddie to let out a breathy gasp as he really made sure that he deepened the kiss; while he was too busy doing that, Steve opens his eyes to look up at the clock where he pulls away as he realises the time, “I just.. I just realised it’s lunch..” Eddie’s breathing was in sync with Steve’s, he turned his head to look at the clock, to see how it was in fact lunch.
He leans in close towards Steve’s neck, where he speaks, “You could always have me for lunch,” Eddie chuckles against his skin before pulling away, seeing the cute look on Steve’s face from how red he was slowly becoming, “I’m kidding, just tell me what you wanna eat and I’ll get it for you.” Steve could start to feel his face starting to heat up slightly from Eddie’s comment - damn him and the way he could make him flustered so easily, Steve didn’t know if it was a curse or blessing that Eddie just knew the right way to make him get all flustered easily. He cleared his throat before speaking up, taking Eddie’s hand in his.
“What if we went out together? I heard there's a little diner that just opened where Benny’s used to be. Could be good?” Eddie smiles sweetly as he places a kiss on Steve’s cheek, making them both start to blush at each other, “Would love to go with you baby. Although I’m gonna be the one paying.”
Steve was a little bit skeptical at that, since the last time they went out on a date, Eddie said that he would pay for their meal, yet, when they had finished their food, Eddie had completely forgot about the fact that he would be the one paying and Steve had ended up paying for both of their meals, “Oh are you? You said that last time Eds and uh.. Pretty sure I ended up paying.” He hopped down off the table where he grabs the keys to the beamer and the station with Eddie’s hand in his, as they both head for the door. “Okayy- that may have happened, but trust me Stevie, I will pay for this one definitely, if I don’t then you can tell me off.” Eddie says as he walks with Steve towards the door - letting go of Eddie’s hand to lock the station door, “Oh. I will.” he promised him as they started walking towards Steve’s car where he opened the door to the driver’s seat, getting in then closing the door as he started the engine.
“I’m counting on it.” Eddie smirks before following Steve in the car where he poems the door to the front passenger seat as then gets in, closing the door after entering the car - they both have had many memories in this car they have already made. “Feel free to pop your music on. I think I still have some of your tapes in the glove box-” Steve gets cut off as Eddie opens up the glove box, he looks through some of the tapes that were in there, he still finds how some of his tapes were still there, “Fuck yeah! Glad that Metallica tape is still in here.”
“Yeah, you seem to lose them but they always end up either at my place or in my car-” Steve started to drive out, he drives through the streets of Hawkins to the new diner, Eddie holds some of the tapes in his hand before putting them back in then closing it, he rests his arm on the car door while relaxing against the car seat, “I have a feeling you secretly end up listening to them.” Eddie smiles to himself knowing that his boyfriend would secretly listen to his tapes which made his heart skip a beat, “Yeah okay maybe..” Steve kept on driving, watching the road ahead of him while glancing at Eddie every now and then.
“You’re cute Harrington. You can always listen to my music whenever you want to, I’ll even listen to some of yours.” Eddie looked at Steve with a soft blush on his face before looking at the road ahead, while Steve rolled his eyes playfully with a slight smile on his face.

Soon, they arrived at the diner as they pulled into the diner parking space, Steve puts the car into park after finding a spot where he could park the car, “Well, we are here now, let’s get some food,” Eddie leans in, looking lovingly and teasingly in Steve’s eyes, making Steve start to blush once again, “You’re more cuter when you blush and get flustered. Why don’t we head inside shall we? I’m starving.” He manages to give Steve a quick kiss before getting out of the car, closing the door behind him with Steve still sitting in the car for a few seconds - he then gets out, closing the door afterwards, with the blush still across his face.
“Hah- Yeah yeah.. So am I.. We barely have any good snacks at that station-” Steve goes to grab Eddie’s hand, they walk hand in hand towards the diner door, as they enter inside, they both spot a booth they can sit at as Eddie speaks, “You need to let me bring you food then if you hate the snacks there. Otherwise I can just bring myself and distract you.” he makes him blush harder as they walk to the booth, with Steve sitting down across from Eddie, “Mm.. Not whilst Robs is there, but when she isn’t, you’re more than welcome to.”
They definitely wouldn’t want Robin to walk in on them if they were in an intimate position, she wouldn’t be able to get it out of her mind - Eddie nods from what Steve said, “Definitely don’t want to do that to her.” Steve then grabs a menu, sliding it towards Eddie before he takes one for himself. They both glance at all of the options that the diner had, seeing just how much more stuff they had, “Christ… This place has twice as many options as Benny’s did..” Eddie continues to look through all of the options that he could choose from, he had to agree that there were so much more menu items than what Benny’s had, “This is way more, holy shit- So much to choose from.”
Continuing to stare at the menu for a while, he finally decided on what he wanted to have as the waitress soon wandered up to their booth, ready to take their order of what the lovebirds wanted to have, “Uh.. Uhm.. Just a cheeseburger and fries thanks- with uh, coke.” Steve finished ordering his menu as Eddie continued to look for a little bit longer, seeing the meals and drinks he could pick from. Instead, he just decides to order the same thing that Steve would be having, as he didn’t want to make the waitress wait any longer, “I’ll have a cheeseburger with a coke as well.” Steve handed the waitress the menus before she walked away.
He looked back towards Eddie, “So.. Don’t mean to bring the mood down, but how are you doing with uh.. The nightmares? Any differences?” Eddie rests his arms against the table, as he looks at him, he looks down just for a split second before looking up into Steve’s eyes once again then speaking, “It's fine. I mean… I have been getting them less but it seems they come back every now and then..” Eddie rubs the back of his head as he sighs, after what happened, he kept on having these nightmares and his anxiety had worsened, but he has been slowly having less nightmares while his anxiety had gone down a bit cause of Steve being next to him, which makes him feel at ease, even though he may get them again once in awhile. “I’ll be honest. I get them less whenever you’re with me, at least that’s good.”
Steve knew how hard it was for Eddie; trying to shut your eyes every night, only all that you see if your worst fears, or someone you love, dead. Right in front of you. He reaches out, taking Eddie’s hand in his, “Then if you need, I will stay with you every night till you're sick of my presence.. You need sleep Eds… I know how exhausted you are.” Eddie has a gentle smile on his face as he gently holds Steve’s hand back, feeling that same comfort he always feels whenever he would be near his boyfriend, it gave him a sense of security whenever he would be with him. “I know that… Also Steve. I could never get tired of your presence, it only makes me want you near me more.”
Hearing Eddie’s words makes Steve smile lovingly, he brings Eddie’s hand up to his lips, kissing the back of it, “I’ll always be there Eddie, I’m not going anywhere,” Eddie could start to feel the tears in his eyes build up but he manages to wipe them with his other hand as he smiles at Steve, he adored him so much, he knew that Steve would always be there for him, “Getting me all emotional Stevie, heh. I’m glad. I’m here for you as well.” he chuckles with him blushing, being very visible from how Steve kissed the back of his hand. Steve brought his other hand up, caressing and touching Eddie’s cheek gently before pulling away as he saw the waitress bring their food and drinks.
The waitress gives the couple their meal and drinks with them saying thank you as she walks away, leaving them be. Immediately after getting their food, Eddie spots the fries that Steve had ordered as he manages to take the opportunity and steals a chip from him, he had that devilish smile on his face as before Steve could anything as he watched Steve take a chip from him, all he could do was look at him, being offended. “You bastard-” Eddie laughs from the look on Steve’s face from how easily he stole a chip from him, he couldn’t stop thinking about just how cute he looked, “You can never stay too mad at me Stevie~” Eddie winked at him after saying that.
Steve rolled his eyes at him, “Yeah yeah… You’re lucky I love you dingus-”
“Love ya too, Stevie~”
He again winks at him before taking a bite of his meal, seeing how Steve started to eat his food as well. Eddie takes another bite of his food before speaking once again, “Better keep an eye on those fries, might want to steal another one,” Eddie looked as if he was already plotting to steal another chip from his boyfriend, which got Steve really paying attention as he quickly takes a bite of his burger before putting it down, glaring at him as he sees Eddie put down his burger, “Well, maybe you should’ve ordered your own Munson-”
Eddie chuckled a little at him, “I specifically remembered how last time you ordered fries and I stole some, you only looked offended for a few seconds before you eventually accepted it,” he takes the opportunity to start moving his hand slowly before moving quickly to try and steal another chip from Steve, however it seems that his plan gets thwarted as Steve quickly grabbed his wrist, “Don’t even think about it-” Eddie couldn’t stop thinking about just how cute Steve looked whenever he would get flustered or ‘mad’ at him “How cute. We both know that’s not enough to really stop me though.” Eddie moves his other hand to take another chip quickly, eating it with a smile on his face as he gloats about his victory.
All Steve could do was sigh as he let go of his wrist in defeat, “I’m going to kill you-”
“Heh, I’d like to see you try.” that only made Steve roll his eyes.
“Just eat your food, Munson.”
Eddie grabs a hold of his burger as he stares at Steve in his eyes, “Alright alright. Whatever you say.. Big boy~” he bites his lip slightly before taking a bite of his burger once more - Steve’s face started to turn bright red from how Eddie had just called him that, “Don’t- Don’t call me that in public Eds.. Bloody tease..” he knew just how much Eddie loved to tease him, it was one of Eddie’s favourite things to do whenever he wanted to see just how flustered Steve could get, “I always get the pleasure of seeing you blush and get flustered. Plus, I love teasing ya.” he bites his burger after speaking.
“Of course you do.. You tease me all the time-”
“I know you secretly love it, even if you don’t show it, Harrington.”
“Yeah yeah- You love teasing me Eds…”
Eddie practically finishes up with his burger and drink the entire time he had been teasing Steve so that he could see that cute reaction on his face, while Steve had finished up with his burger, fries and drink, while Eddie every now and then tried to steal chip much to the dismay of Steve, “Let me guess, you gotta go back to the radio station afterwards.” Steve nodded, he had to continue with the work he was doing before Robin would come back from her date and he wanted to finish it up, “Yeah- Yeah I gotta try and finish that paperwork before Robs gets back.. Which is in about.. An hour and a half." Steve looked up from his watch after double checking.
“Damn was hoping to steal you away for a bit more,” Eddie chuckles as he sees that slight smile on Steve’s face, “You can come with me? Just can’t distract me like you were doing earlier,” Steve grabbed his wallet from his pocket, ready to go and pay for the meal since it looked like Eddie wouldn’t be the one paying as he seemed to have forgotten again. Just as Eddie was about to say something, he couldn’t even start his sentence as he saw Steve had his wallet in his hand; which made Eddie quickly get up and stop him before he could even reach the front counter, “Woah woah woah. What are you doing there Harrington?” Eddie manages to get Steve’s wallet out of his hand before pulling out his own wallet from his pocket, holding Steve’s in his other hand. “I said I would be paying did I not?”
Grabbing his wallet from Steve, he puts it back in his back jeans pocket, “Fine fine-” he sees how Eddie goes to the front counter to pay for the meal and drinks they had as he grabs his car keys out of his other pocket. Eddie finished paying for the meal they had before returning to Steve, putting his wallet in his back pocket, “See. Told you I would pay this time sweetheart.” Steve gently gives Eddie’s cheek a soft touch before grabbing his hand with a smile on his face.
“Yeah, it's almost like it was a ploy to make sure you remembered.” They both walked out of the diner hand in hand towards the car as Eddie laughed from just how sneaky Steve was and just how hot it was, “Well, aren’t you a sneaky one Stevie.” They both reached the car as Steve let go of Eddie’s hand so that he could unlock the car.
“I have my ways.” Steve opens the car door to the driver's seat, where he gets in then sits down, closing the door afterwards, with Eddie doing the same when he gets in the passengers seat then closing the door behind him, he turned to look at Steve with a sly smirk on his face, “You should do it more often.” Steve knew just how much Eddie would love to see him act like this more, he would definitely be adding that on the list on how to make sure he would be flirting with his boyfriend like this and acting more confident, “Yeah you’d love that-” Steve started the car then began the drive back to the radio station.
“You know I would.”
Eddie leans in and teasingly gives a bite to Steve’s ear before leaning back against the seat, with that damn smirk on his face, “Ay-! I’m trying to focus on driving,” Steve’s face had started to turn red yet again as he tried to keep his focus and attention on the road, even if it was difficult when he had his damn attractive boyfriend right next to him, and was teasingly biting on his ear, “Focus on the road then, don’t let me distract you.” Eddie chuckles as Steve groans and rolls his eyes.

They both soon arrive back the Radio station where Steve parks the car out in the front; he gets out of the car as he still sees how Eddie was still inside, Eddie glanced at him back before continuing to look through the glove box where his tapes of music were, “Want me to bring any of my tapes? Could play some music if you want.” Eddie thought it could give some background noise they would relax to as Steve would probably want to continue on with his work before Robin would come back from her date.
