Summary
It is easy for a boy with a bleeding heart to be pushed aside. But for Sal Fisher, it's not so easy, especially when the pain is so obvious to him. But his thoughts on why this boy's heart is bleeding is not the real reason.
Travis takes up Sal's offer to become friends and a whole bunch of problems happen.
(There will eventually be a side couple between Ash and an OC and they will have a couple of chapters that are dedicated to just them that will eventually merge into the main storyline!)

When Travis finally saw the light at the end of the miserable tunnel of his life, it wasn't the divine light of the Lord, blinding in its intensity, but warm and comforting as the church had promised him; rather, it was the almost electric glow of blue hair belonging to the most beautiful boy he had ever seen. And in that blue light, he lost himself, wondering only if God saw the dreams and fantasies that Travis had made a point of burying deep in his soul.

Mike froze.
Then he was spotted, and the boy stopped in his tracks; with skillful movements, he quickly slung the rifle off his shoulder and pointed it at Mike’s chest. Mike raised his hands while trying to keep most of his weight on his left leg.
“Whoa. Hey,” Mike said, his eyes wide as he stared at the tip of the rifle. “Just hold on. I’m not—I’m not going to hurt you.”
