"Gale? What's wrong?" Ari asks.
Leaves shift again and fall from her hair as she sits up. He rubs at his temple and shakes his head again.
"I- I'm sorry, Ari," he says shakily, trying to sort his thoughts. "I don't know what just happened… I think I had a vision? I'm not sure."
A long silence stretches between them and Gale looks at her uncertainly.
"Ari?"
"Oh gods, Gale, I'm so sorry - I -"
The realization feels like a guillotine has chopped his heart in half.

He looked up, startled. His name in her voice was like a spark. Her gaze lingered on the fire for a moment longer before she turned to him, pulling her auburn hair away from her face. The flames illuminated her skin and Estinien found himself staring, caught between the serious tone of her voice and the burning in his cheeks. The air seemed to shift around him.
"Yes?" he asked. Something in her emerald eyes lit a fire deep in his belly, awakening a dormant desire he didn't realize he still possessed.
"Why did you come on this trip?"

She steps towards him and while he still stands casually, she can see his body tense almost imperceptibly. What she doesn't expect, and should have, really, is that the "few lousy ruffians" are actually a well organized group whose numbers far outweigh their own. And despite his supposed knowledge and skills, Holyfist chooses to remain behind, pushing Renna and Chuchuto out to the field to fight a growing number of people. The two of them work in tandem, flurried fists timed together so as to take out as many of them as possible. Yet still they come, and Renna finds her strength waning with each punch, her muscles burning, her bones screaming for rest.

Little Ala Mhigo is nothing more than a tiny settlement, filled with refugees who have lost the will to do nothing more than survive. It appears that for all the wealth that Ul'dah has, none of it could be spared to improve the lives of such few folk. It makes me sick.

Little Ala Mhigo is nothing more than a tiny village with downtrodden people, cast away from the main city and left to shoulder the burdens of survival on their own. The people of Ul'dah couldn't care less about them. So focused are they with lining their own pockets and building their own wealth, they have little patience for those with nothing, and force them away so as not to be reminded of their plight.
