A mysterious, stubborn virus infiltrates Caine's systems, forcing him to utilize some rather desperate measures in a reckless attempt to keep the circus, and himself, online. He attempts to fix it, ends up somewhat successful, and pretends like everything is fine as a result. See? He's not dying! He can handle this just fine on his own. He didn't need Kinger, or anyone for that matter, rummaging around in his delicate code.
That is, until he wakes up one day covered in digital blood, surrounded by the mutilated bodies of his favorite humans.

An alternate take on Sonic 06’s story, with several minor tweaks and a single major change: Blaze is completely removed. Silver is as isolated as ever in the future. So when Mephiles swings by to rope Silver into his great scheme… he’s oblivious to the sinister air his new “friend” carries with him.
