Summary
In a far-flung vision of the future, humanity has found itself in the middle of a global war. Nations, large and small, vie for power in an endless struggle for dominance over a small sector of the planet, known as "The Wound". Ancient prophecies claim that the first nation to claim The Wound and the region surrounding it for itself will become the masters of the world, granted access to a source of power so great, no enemy would dare stand against them. In this relentless conflict, nations deploy entire armies just for the sake of conquering small swathes of land; every mile of territory gained bringing the victors closer to the edge of the world, where The Wound resides. Battles are fought by forces composed of alphas on the front line, with supporting regiments of betas and omegas filling whatever roles deemed most important while the vanguard warriors clash in fearsome melees. Nobody is safe from the demands of the global war machine, and conscription into national service is universally mandated. Amidst all this, there are whispers of an illusive conclave operating independent of any nation, seeking to achieve ends unknown to even the most powerful leaders of the world's nations.

“Can you, um,” Zoey clears her throat, her fingers curling into a fist in front of her mouth. Nerves take over, she can feel her heart pounding against her chest, a fast thump, thump, thump that sends all coherent thoughts in her brain scattering. Her gaze darts back and forth between the colorful row of Gatorade bottles and the shiny, metallic Red Bull cans. Her own flustered expression reflects on the chilled glass of the refrigerator displays. “Can you repeat that, Mir?”
Mira chuckles as she tilts her head, warm brown eyes fondly studying the way Zoey’s being so demure right now. Like a turtle ducking into its shell. It’s beyond cute. She repeats the words that have turned her boisterous alpha into a meek little cutie.
“I want to take your knots. After the gala. We’re still on break and I want to spend it with you both.” The flustered squeak Zoey lets out makes Mira laugh lightly, mirth bubbling off of her tongue from the sight of Zoey blushing bright red after hearing her request.

Summary
Letting someone into your head means letting them know you to your core, and then losing them means being alone in a way you never could have been before.

Summary
What if Rumi wasn't the only hunter that Celine raised to hide themselves? Zoey was raised hearing 'Our faults and fears must never be seen' just as much as Rumi, conditioned to hide away the part of herself that was a danger to herself and those around her. Now that Rumi's secret is out, shouldn't that mean that Zoey can also share her secret?
