Prince Sidon sought to fill the vast void his sister had left behind, but in the wake of Hyrule's victory over the Calamity, he learned quickly that he could not even fill the void in his own heart. Struggling to accept his role as the future king, Sidon shoulders the burden of his people and the friends he has lost, though help unexpectedly comes his way in the form of a heroic Hylian, a beloved friend, and a little girl looking for a place to call home.

Born of their love came four more blessings: A King, a Queen, a Gift, and a Curse.
At least that was what the Goddesses had told him, and as King Sidon looked out into the Domain, he was afraid of their prophecy coming true. He was prepared to do anything for his children. He was prepared to die for them. But as Sidon turned away from the window and looked into the mirror, he could only frown.
Things had gotten so much more complicated in the last twenty-four hours.
"Are you alright?" Link asked, wrapping his arms intentionally around Sidon's waist.
"I'm...scared," Sidon admitted, "Yesterday, I was so sure of what I needed to do and now..."
"I know," Link sighed holding him tighter before taking hold of his hands. Sidon forced himself to look into his husband's eyes as Link added, "But I'm not going anywhere. We'll get through this together."
"You promise?"
"I promise."

When Zelda was first unexpectedly thrown into the ancient era, she had no idea what horrors would await her. Granted, she never meant for any of this to happen in the first place.
Needless to say, as Zelda gained her bearings and set a course to head home, the last thing on her mind was the people who stood behind Hyrule's oldest of fairytales.
So yes, Zelda was taken aback by the character and nature of Hyrule's first and most ancient Hero. Mainly because he was a lot like a lost dog. And he was - somehow - the son of Rival Kings, Rauru and Ganondorf.

Summary
After completing their quest to find Arabella's parents, the party feels compelled to make sure their little tiefling friend makes it safely to Baldur's Gate. But Arabella is prone to mischief, so naturally Astarion winds up on babysitting duty when he needs to be hunting. Why? He didn't fucking know, but he was not about to let a small child and a pack of wild animals insult his otherwise suave and threatening presence.
(AKA: Astarion's pride gets absolutely demolished by a ten-year-old, a dog, and an owlbear cub. He responds exactly how you'd expect.)

As he came to, he found Sidon holding him by the shoulders, looking concerned. Zelda stood beside Sidon, her brow knit with worry, and Nami, balanced carefully on his hip, stared up at him with a confused expression.
“I…” Link blinked a couple of times, trying to shake the memory and the pool of warmth now bubbling in his stomach away. Then that flood of arousal boiled into a sudden, white hot fury as he shot a glare to the only person between the four of them who could actually answer his question: “I FUCKED REVALI!?"

Different cultures had different courting traditions. The Rito were no exception. They carved their matrimonial jewels from stone by hand as a couple, but tumbled and polished the special gems in order to propose. It was frankly...overkill. And Revali didn't ever think he would be one for it.
Which is probably why he never took the time to explain the tradition to Link.
