… However, her sleep would be disrupted only a few minutes later. Unfortunately, her fever had gotten slightly worse in the time and she also felt drowsy from being abruptly woken up.
Kakania hoped that it was important. She got out of bed and slowly approached the front door. Whoever was at the door started knocking again. “Coming!”
Kakania opened the door calmly, despite how bad she felt. It could be a patient, and she couldn’t act negatively and possibly cause mental harm. She ended up being right, though it was someone who was a bit more than a patient, “Isolde?”

Kakania wakes up one day feeling sick, and Isolde finds out and wants to take care of her.

“What?” Adler was left there in shock, awkwardly standing in an empty room that had the light off and no other people. Was he in the wrong room? Most of Laplace’s space was labs so he couldn’t imagine there being a meeting room he didn’t know about. Was it so quick that he missed it?
“Mr. Adler?” The human jumped as he heard a voice behind himself. It was his least favorite coworker- Ulrich. “Why are you here?”

Adler finds himself (seemingly) late for a meeting and ends up interacting with Ulrich.

“Well, I was saying that while I know you’ve complained about me hoarding the lab I really don’t want humans in here right now…” Ulrich’s angry voice got blurred as Adler focused more on his thoughts than the conversation. He still had the same look, same personality… He was an annoying awakened who he constantly argued with-
“... Why the hell do I find you attractive?” Adler blurted out, disturbing whatever Ulrich was rambling on about.
“You what?”
“I- no-” In Adler’s embarrassment, he tried to take back his words. He spoke without thinking. “Though it is strange-”

After surprisingly working hard for several weeks, Adler finally gets a break and is able to sleep. But when he does so, he has a strange dream which involves his non-human coworker and causes unwanted thoughts to plague his mind.
