“What’s this?” Pete asks, surveying the ensemble Vegas has laid out for him.
“Put it on,” Vegas tells him in a voice that brooks no argument. “All of it.”
Pete glances at him, and for a moment Vegas thinks he will refuse, but his eyes are already going dark and heavy-lidded. He’s not always this easy, but sometimes all it takes is a little push. Pete lets the towel drop to the floor.

Post-canon, Vegas and Pete decide to take Macau and make a run for it. On the way, Vegas reflects on what he can still offer Pete — and what he can ask in return.

Summary
When Vegas is handed the keys to a failing major family hotel and told to bring it back to life, he knows it’s not a gift, or a test, or even an opportunity to prove himself. It’s a taunt. It’s a way to set him up for failure so everyone can rub his nose in the shitshow he’s left with, defeated and inferior to his cousins like always. It’s the death sentence of his pride in a gilded cage.
But misery loves company and all that, and he finds a surprisingly fitting cellmate in an unassuming looking employee named Pete. Now if only he could get Pete to stop playing hard to get, this cage could become a lot more comfortable.

“I didn’t think you’d… I just needed to get away. I couldn’t take anymore, but I would’ve never thought-”Vegas got up from the bed, at that point. He walked over to Pete, just taking his words in, letting Pete keep talking. Something had changed in the air, something about how his legs cut across the room. Like a switch had been flipped.
“You didn’t want to?”
He squatted in front of Pete, to get on his same level, and reached a hand in his direction.“No!” Pete screamed, unsure if it was in answer to Vegas or if in response to the idea of being touched again. He refused to feel that cold again. He threw himself back, hard enough that he almost fell back. He caught himself with an arm, unpolished and exposed.
“Make it up to me, then.”

Summary
Vegas has never experienced an afterglow that burns like an oil fire, a sudden and dangerous thing that he can’t quite remember how best to put out past the panic. It doesn’t help that Pete’s smile is like a torrent of cool water on his feverish skin, making the flames jump higher.
It makes Vegas want to do something dangerous that he’s never really been good at before – it makes him want to take care of Pete. Problem is, he doesn’t really know how.

He didn’t even know why he was ending a five-year long relationship out of nowhere; he couldn’t make sense of himself or the tension boiling over. It seemed the only way to disperse it was to leave. He just needed some time. He was going to explode. He didn’t even know what the problem was. Everything with Vegas was perfect, so why couldn’t Pete be happy?
When Pete said he wanted space, Vegas was supposed to know it was a lie. When Pete left in the middle of the night, Vegas was supposed to drag him back him home, like a lost dog waiting for his owner. When Pete broke his heart, Vegas was supposed to know that Pete still loved him.
… It was lonely, without him.

“I’m not going to give you information,” Pete volunteers to his bent over form. There’s no way to know exactly what’s in store for him but Pete feels the need to make that declaration.
There’s a sharp zapping sound, and Vegas turns to face him then, revealing the jumper cables in his gloved hands which are connected to a car battery on the table behind him. The rest seems self-explanatory.
“I don’t want information,” Vegas says, finally looking up at him from the cables.
By then Vegas is already advancing on him, much too close for comfort. But Pete has already resigned himself at this point.
Or the one where Pete is very uncooperative at being tortured, Vegas gets a little too creative and falls for his own trap in the worst way possible.

There have been small moments here and there, Vegas reaching for his gun when someone steps too close to Pete, his fingers curling into a fist when someone smiles at Pete a little too brightly, an increased level of domination when someone talks to Pete a little too long.
Pete is enjoying these bursts of jealousy and rage from Vegas, finds that the sex is ravenous and filthy between them when Vegas has to prove that no one else will ever get to touch Pete like he does.
What Pete really wants to know is if Vegas is getting off on the jealousy and subsequent rage as much as Pete is.
