Summary
Shadow is a supervillain. He is Ultimate, one of the worst in the city. He deserves the death penalty before he deserves fondness and affection, but he gets exactly that when he indulges the vigilante Phantom, also known as Sonic.
He also doesn't deserve a family, but after one of the heroes kills Sonic, Shadow finds it impossible to abandon Tails, Sonic's remaining family.
And he definitely doesn't deserve a second chance to make things right, but the universe seems quite insistent on giving him what he doesn't deserve.

Summary
There was a reason hybrids between human and demon were so rare. Even a pregnancy in a normal human pairing was taxing upon the mother but with a hybrid it was more often than not lethal. Human and demons were never truly meant to breed and for all successful pregnancies there were thousands of deaths, of stillborn or infants born only to die moments later from their conflicting nature or grotesque malformations. Or of purely demonic young eating their way out of their mothers and both dying as a result.
Mundus went through many humans, women abducted to the demon world by his minions, until one survived through the pregnancy long enough to birth a child which could pass for traditional human being. One which was too demonic in appearance was no use- he wanted eyes and ears within the mortal realm. Someone who could slip pass demon repellents and could search without scrutiny into unlocking the seals holding him prisoner. Something that could slip past Sparda's notice and to search, under the radar, for ways to fully manifest into the human world. For all Mundus looked down upon humans he wouldn't dismiss a tool without testing its use first.

Summary
Ottilia (Otti) Shepard woke up after being dead for two years. She was revived by Cerberus, the Council still doesn't care about her or her cause, and the Illusive Man is a dick. She's plagued with nightmares and flashbacks, often lashing out at herself for things frankly out of her control. She's able to keep this under wraps from her crew. That is, until a turian with an obsession for calibrations decides to check on her after noticing the tendency to go directly to her cabin one too many times.
(In which Shepard is a mess, Garrus panics at the thought of his best friend suffering, and they end up together. Only Shepard is still, in fact, a hot mess.)
I will make a habit of putting content warnings on chapters containing self-harm as well as an indication of which paragraph you can skip to if you don't want to read that. Please take care of yourself while you read if it's a trigger for you. I won't have it mentioned too often, but it will be in there.
One other thing, my writing style has evolved as I’ve written this fic. The first 4 chapters stick very close to cannon which means it starts slow. I apologize for that, but I promise it gets better starting at chapter 4 and only improves from there!

This is a Winter Soldier X Call of Duty crossover. The reader is a serum-enhanced super soldier from Russia (except without the brain-washing). As a child, her parents sold her to an unknown group for drug money. The group took her to a facility where she was experimented on for years until she gained super-human abilities such as sight, strength, hearing, and some mild (ineffective) regeneration. After an incident at the facility caused a fire, the reader escaped, stowing away on multiple ships and planes until she landed in America at 16 years old. Lost for what to do, she joined the military, which funded her high school and college education. Throughout her service, she kept her abilities a secret while rising through the ranks as an excellent shot and combat specialist. Her life seemed meaningless so she joined Task Force 141, where she found a new family and love.
