He didn’t know exactly when or at what point in the last two years he had gotten numb to it- But he did. Life went on, but not in the way it usually did. They had started on the road, with Richie attempting to drive as best he could in a post apocalyptic world. The luxury of being in a car had been cut short by the time they hit the turnpike where every single car was stuck in place. People were honking and all it did was attract attention to them all- Unwanted attention.
About a week after they had left, bombs had been dropped on the city. Thousands were dead, and thousands were added to the population of the undead. Thankfully they had already left the confines of the five boroughs and were now walking through the woods that connected the states of Jersey and New York. Things had gotten easier after the bombs, He thought it would get harder- He figured, the more dead, the more danger.

Buck turns around and suddenly forgets how to breathe. Here in front of him, in a deep blue uniform, is Tommy. His Tommy. He's trotting over to them and his steps falter when he catches sight of Buck.
"Tommy!" Chimney exclaims as he runs to hug the man.
Tommy pats him on the back but he's still staring right at Buck, looking as stunned as Buck feels. Chimney lets him go with a friendly slap on the shoulder.
"This is Eddie Diaz," Chimney starts, pointing to Eddie on his left side, then he points to the other side. "And this is-"
"Evan," Tommy breathes out, he swallows and Buck can see his Adam's apple bop. He's still ridiculously hot.
"Tommy- uh, hey," he chuckles.
