Summary
After being caught drinking and driving, it all came crumbling down for Drew Chambers. His father is an NHL coach and former player who consumes his life in the worst way possible. No longer able to play D3 hockey, he now has to determine what he wants in life. He drinks to numb the years of abuse from his father and hides it so well all people see is a kid born with a silver spoon.
Theo Rampion is an even keeled Atlanta firefighter who plays on a local beer league team. He grew up poor but was unconditionally loved. His wife Kelly comes from a similar background and is a warm and comforting force. They come into Drew's life and begin to understand his life and circumstances. An attraction and bond forms between the three.
They build a relationship upon mutual communication, trust, and understanding and each brings something which compliments the other. Sometimes the hardest part is accepting there is no such thing as normal.

Summary
Dave Malard is an NHL defenseman at the tail end of his career. He recently won a Stanley Cup but the wear and tear on his body is enough to make him consider retirement though he can't since he heard the words he wanted to hear: he is needed. He likes pain and has a disdain for authority figures, a side effect of his rough childhood.
Armando Ramirez is a Houston police officer who is good at his job and keeps to himself. His life is upended when he keeps running into a reckless, smart ass NHL player. He's annoyed but intrigued by the man who is unlike anyone in the cycle of criminals he typically deals with on a daily basis.
They both have secrets to hide but when they come together it is intense and exactly what they need from one another.

It all started with an offer sheet and a smile. Matti Mäkinen, Finnish right winger for the Houston Mustangs is a former Stanley Cup champion with an uncanny ability to create plays. Considered reserved and shy, he is more than meets the eye. He is unlucky in love and confused about his own feelings. The new arrival of a fellow countryman does nothing to solve this, he only adds to it. Newly acquired, Niko Eskola is a charming power centre who wanted to leave his former team. Given a lucky break, he signs with the Mustangs. Niko loves life and wears his heart on his sleeve, but can be foolhardy. He slowly captures Matti’s affections by winning him over with food and his nurturing personality. From all appearances, they form an unlikely bond in their chase for the Cup. Opposites in many ways, yet similar in what matters. They learn to navigate their complicated and growing attraction. The smart thing would be to take things as they come and believe they will work out eventually. Will it be possible in a league, which touts acceptance, but is unwilling to make drastic changes? The two need to figure out how to love and still play professional hockey.
