Sasuke used his jutsu and started the fire. Sakura washed the ingredients as Naruto set up all the tools. Begrudgingly, they concluded that Naruto should be in charge since he was the best cook out of the three. He had the most experience against them after all.
“Listen, why don’t you start with one plate before the rest? Make Kakashi’s first,” Pakkun advised.
“Got it!” Naruto beamed. With Sakura and Sasuke beside him, they could do anything!
...They tried. They really did. Team 7 gets ambushed by a rogue ninja. With Kakashi’s hands tied up with integrating him, he asks Team 7 to make lunch. What could possibly go wrong?

It was then, as he made the bed of Naruto’s because it was the only one in disarray, had he come to a realization.
He’d been domesticated.
Thoroughly, and utterly domesticated.
Had this been Lord Hiruzen’s plan all along? Kick him out of the ANBU and make him fall soft with a bunch of wet nosed genin? He sat there, listening to Naruto and Sasuke argue and wrestle as Sakura sounded just about done with their bullshit. He’d been domesticated. Truly. Like the lone wolf captured by early humans, he had been turned into nothing but a hound dog.

Or, Kakashi domesticating himself and becoming attached to team 7 completely on accident after swearing he wasn’t going to get attached
