Summary
Steven traveled the world in search of finding the comfort in the humanity he'd missed out on. He had eventually decided to settle down somewhere relatively calm, though it was in a city on the busier side. It definitely took some getting used to, but with you as his roommate he quickly felt welcomed and at home. He found his routine and was able to focus on who he wanted to be as a human.
But it was almost a year into living there, and Connie had decided to end things. He kept his distance, but after a month he couldn't help but start to feel the effects of the falling out on his mental state. He needed a new connection.

It was two or so weeks after your “graduation,” and of course life had led you to becoming a 7/11 employee. You worked as hard as you could to gain enough money to move out as soon as possible, as you wanted to start your own life. The days had been usually chill and the job hadn’t required that much social interaction due to the people in the area being just as antisocial, but the occasional Karen wasn't completely avoidable. Well, that was until a particularly chatty boy decided to show up. You did your best to just get through the interaction, but he just refused to leave for some reason.

You and Jason had met a while back, in the boiler room right when he had been planning on destroying the school with those bombs after Veronica had decided she was done with the world. [She actually died] It took just a bit of convincing, but eventually he'd defused the bomb. The two of you just talked, and it wasn't long before the two of you had grown fond of eachother. Despite the fact that he'd killed 3 people… but you could agree those people were jerks. It hadn't been long before the two of you were hanging out regularly, then together. You were with him almost every day of the week. You slept over at his house often, escaping from your house.
Suddenly your mom had forced you to stay home, because she was upset with how much time you were spending with this “JD” guy. You were grounded. One night JD had abruptly come through your window. It seemed he'd had enough and decided to see you himself.

An assignment as the personal escort of the Golden Guard himself doesn't sound too shabby- especially when you've got exceptional abilities to back you up. But reading minds isn't quite as useful as everyone makes it out to be, and your new charge is as bitter and unpredictable as he is endearing. Worse yet, he seems just as incapable of figuring himself out as you are.
