Summary
Doku stands completely still watching them go, relishing both his freedom and the satisfaction of knowing that there is nothing anyone can do for Deku.
The clock is ticking, and the hero’s time is nearly spent.
Doku isn’t a wanted criminal for nothing, the highly fatal toxins produced by his quirk has made him very desired by the law.
They can try all they like, but Deku’s story is inevitably over and by the time he’s dead and the other hero can come hunting, Doku will be long gone into the woods.

Izuku has always loved the beach. Which is why when he’d stumbled upon the absolute wreck of a beach that was Dagobah it was a sight he simply couldn’t ignore.
The trash heaped everywhere, slowly eroding away into the ocean. There isn’t anything for a beachgoer to enjoy, and the trash has to be damaging the local fish population.
It is likely why the local mermaid population has been so nonexistent as well, the pollution has to seem obscene to them.
Izuku will change that. Even if it is only him, and it takes half his life or more, he will make it better for everyone.
It is what heroes do after all.

From the room behind him, he could hear Izuku’s surprised yelling and the start of his signature Midoriya family waterworks as the rest of 2-A popped out from behind couches and began to overwhelm him with pure support and love.
They weren’t the same, his relationship with Izuku really never could be the same again, but it would be happy and it would be the future he shared alongside the rest of 2-A.

It was relatively rare for a set of soulmates to actually match one another. As such, it was more of a fantasized idea than anything else. Izuku truthfully doesn’t know a single true soulmate pair. Most people simply ignored the name on their wrists and followed their hearts instead, no matter how disastrous.
Despite all of that, Izuku didn’t expect to get a soulmate written on his wrist or upper arm at all.
He was born quirkless, afterall, no matter the fact that he’d spent nearly two years with One for All before losing it during the war.

He spent so much of his childhood being told he is useless, a waste of space for not having a quirk, yet here in this mess of a world he finds he can make a difference. It doesn’t start out large or fancy. A boy handing out band aids and water, simple things but important things nonetheless. Someone seeing the pain of the world and wanting to make it better.
He doesn’t set out for it to mean anything, or for it to be his life’s path; yet that is the end result anyways. Actions have meaning, and these ones mean everything to those he helps.

Looking ahead, he can see that the cliffs towering above him taper off to a far more manageable slope. There is simply nothing to see here, to discover about where Katsuki might be or even where they are at all.
The easy choice is to walk ahead, and see what he can find that will lead him back to his sibling. A higher vantage might give away which direction the other man had gone. Or some clue to the world.
Off trudged Izuku, walking along the waterline as the waves gently lapped at the shoreline. He couldn’t see another shore in the distance, so if it is a lake it is an enormous one. Yet if it is an ocean, it is incredibly calm for one.
He pauses at the top of the trail he’s followed, gazing out over foreign lands touched by a gentle morning light. There has been no sign of Katsuki, no sign of anyone if Izuku is being honest with himself. Outside of a trail that has obviously seen use, and now a statue he can see gleaming below him, set in the middle of a small pond of water. Someone had to have put that there, perhaps it will be some kind of clue to where he is. To where people are. Izuku’s skin crawls with the feeling of aloneness, he is never alone. It is uncanny.
