The brick wall is hard and he nearly breaks his nose when he’s shoved against it. His bandages drag awfully against the rough surface, and Hawks almost regrets leaving his apartment for a walk. Almost.
See, the thing is, he’d been going absolutely stir-crazy cooped up in there. The first week had been fine after being released from the hospital, but by the time the second week ahd rolled around he was ready to go back to doing whatever fuckshittery he could think of. But he can’t because ‘recovery’ and he needs to do ‘physical therapy’ and he can’t just ‘run around like an idiot.’ He thinks the exact words had been ‘like a headless chicken,’ but he refuses to acknowledge that.
But the pain of seeing the person he had and then being shoved against a wall and having one arm twisted behind his back so hard his shoulder was in danger of being dislocated is something of a drug to him. It hurts and it’s perfect, starbursts of it bursting behind his eyelids whenever he blinks and winces, and it’s so perfect. He’d missed it more than he realized.

His mom died, and so he became unable to pay the rent on the apartment. With no place to go, he took only his bag with his hero notebooks, some clothes, and a few pictures he had pinned to the wall in his room. He meets Toshinori Yagi (All Might) but never inherited his quirk. He is quirkless still. He goes between places for a while, until one day he goes back to the park where he and Bakugou used to play.
