Chapter Text
Tommy is a simple 16 year old orphan kid on paper. Got out of the forster system at 15 years old. He has a job at a local craft store that pays him quite well and owns a shitty 2 room apartment in a poorer district of the city, district 10, with his best friend and roommate.
But to be fair, the two rooms are actually just a giant curtain mounted to the ceiling to separate their room.
He is loud and cheerful most days and very polite to the regular customers and people that were truly genuinely kind, but he isn't afraid to hold his ground and boundaries to rude customers.
But under that, he is known as disc, an insane vigilante with no self-preservation. Most heroes, villains, and other vigilantes of the underworld knew that if his mission was required to do something reckless, like holding a loaded gun to his head, he would do so with no true hesitation.
His power is simple. With just a snap of his fingers, or a light touch for a stronger effect than a few minutes, he could deafen, mute, or blind his opponent temporarily, in a particular movement of emotions he can turn off movements for a bit.
Like a flash bang that practically disabled a lot of the main senses he could intentionally activate.
Disc is also known to have a man behind him, someone who has all contacts to him through an earpiece, their name is wasp.
Nobody quite knew who wasp is and what power they had. Only that it is associated with electronics.
This duo is known to be an insane bunch. A command center that could disable the entire hero communication system and that seemingly had all eyes everywhere.
And a lunatic vigilante who isn't afraid to put on a show out of a fight, quite a dare devil in practice and in theory. With an ability to be practically almost disabling the human body.
Heroes heavily avoided disc, mostly cause they would rather not deal with this very overpowered vigilante and his man on the inside. It just wasn't fair for most of them to fight the guy.
Whilst villains always liked to spar with him, of course, in a friendly duel. Sometimes, even offering the two spots in their groups, which were always refused by disc and wasp just usually fucked with their equipment just cause they think it's funny.
Vigilantes liked to team up with disc quite a lot, especially in saving their asses from heroes trying to arrest them because of their illegal usage of their power.
The public had heard of disc, but only faintly, like some sort of myth about him, nothing too special or remarkable since journalists were too afraid to get close to him.
Tommy is always happy for this fact. It let him live a free life without worry of the regular public trying to investigate into his and wasp's real identities.
Some of those reddit dwellers are insane at solving shit and he does not want to be found out by a reddit zombie.
Tubbo being wasp liked to stay home since his job let him, and being a command center is easy enough for him with his powers of controlling electronics and code.
Tubbo and Tommy rarely go out together because as much as tubbo loves the action, he isn't willing to get his hands dirty like Tommy was enthusiastic to do.
Actually, he should talk about who tubbo is in this entire situation. Tubbo score or just tubbo is Tommy's first close friend after he left the foster system.
The duo are lucky enough to have become roommates and great friends because of their shared bond over having to deal with shity adults for a majority of their lives. Cause you know, the foster system is very flawed in many ways, making it immensely unfair to the children.
Tubbo is also an incredible smart lad. He is gifted with the power of decoding code in mere seconds or using electronics through his mind, meaning his wisdom on everything happening in the city is practically unlimited.
To explain tubbo's power in terms. He's able to transfer a part of his consciousness in any device to be able to see, speak, and hear through it, and so on. Whilst the code thing, he is just a genius, and Tommy might be a bit overreacting about the mere seconds thing.
Currently, Tommy is cycling to work at the late midday hours, which aren't his usual early morning shifts. He isn't late exactly. His shift is just later in the day today because ranboo said they needed the morning shift on this random week day for some odd reason.
The guy rarely is awake at the time Tommy's shift is happening, and Tommy knows this because he believes he is friends with ranboo. He isn't sure about that, actually.
Kinda hard to tell since they are both friendly to each other, but they are also coworkers. Anyhow, back to the shift thing.
It was weird cause the craft store ran until 11 p.m., and ranboo insisted that they would rather take over at those closing times even if there were practically no customers at that time.
Tommy didn‘t mind switching since the busiest time is always from 12 am to 5 pm, and Puffy takes those over. Tommy took over from 6 am, to 12 am.
Morning and evening shifts were practically the same. Just the mornings usually had older women looking for the magazine section, new fabrics, or sewing equipment whilst the evening shifts are usually just mothers looking for items for their kid's project last minute.
Which is a bit unfair for the poor ladies, but kids are always forgetful in a way.
Practically the same, but now Tommy is quite happy there's no traffic cause mornings usually had quite a few more cars than evening and since it's evening Tommy can happily relax.
It's not his fault that he's going into work after everyone else is either still at work or already home.
He biked for a few more minutes until he saw the yellow bricked building and the pretty dark green entrance.
He biked over to the back and dragged his red bicycle that had a humorous amount of sticker, tubbo's doing, into the back room where Puffy allowed him to keep it there so nobody steals it.
It has happened before and nobody needs to know that disc might have hunted down the thief to get his bike back, oh well, not his fault that bitch stole Tommy's favorite way of transport.
He pushed the door close and locked it. He went to grab his apron with tools inside its pockets. There's been numerous times when a child went to buy paint and splashed tommy.
That's why the stores uniform consisted of a dark blue apron and a pair of black gloves, so it would be easy to wash it without leaving stains.
Tommy noticed how Puffy was already gone, probably either going to meet up with her son or either going to do some managerial paperwork.
Honestly, even if Puffy left sporadically, there were very few Karens that entered the store that Tommy couldn't deal with. Most of the customers were tired mothers, sleep deprived art students, or senior citizens that were there to grab sewing equipment, and as he had said magazines, sometimes even newspapers.
He walked to the front to start work at the counter so he could get his shift to either be as empty as possible or finish it if there were a lot of people that day. He did love his job, but come on, who doesn't want to go home early from work.
-----
Hours passed. Today was quite calm. Sure, there were a few rude people, but an older woman got them to leave.
Currently, it was 9 pm, and the dark of the night was crawling up since it was autumn.
Tommy sat scrolling social media, waiting to see if he could possibly get away closing earlier than he usually did.
That's when the bell to the door rang, and disappointment rushed into Tommy's mind.
'Well fuck you too, gods' Tommy really wanted to see if he and tubbo could go out and eat. Even if they weren't rich, their apartment is cheap, and they had enough money to go out to eat at a cheap fast food restaurant every few nights. It is a nice tradition to have.
Tommy looked over to see a tall man, and he means tall, the fucking dude is like 6'7 ft or something, that hight is comparable to the one and only ranboo beloved.
The man looked like the definition of, it's only business no hard feelings. He had oddly long pink hair tied into a messy bun. He wore a pair of round glasses over his brown eyes and a polar bear hoodie.
Main character in a shitty comic book vibes was practically an aesthetic on this bitch ass.
Tommy put on his customer service smile. He really didn't want to be beat up by a guy who probably could lift Tommy up like he was a pack of grapes.
To be fair, tubbo could even lift him up, and the dude is 5'3 and filled with the desire to burn every single fucker down.
"Welcome, sir, to pale oak craft store, how could I help you -" "Do you have any copper string?"
Tommy is stunned, not expecting the man to sound so tired. "What?"
"Copper string, do you have any? My dad really needs them for another project of his. He sent me here to grab some."
Copper string? Yeah, they do have that item, but barely anyone buys it. Tommy is pretty sure he broke a piece of the simulation to have someone on the shift he is on actually buying it.
Tommy nodded. "Yes we do, but what fucking project requires copper string." The man shrugged. "I have literally the same thought as you. How much would be a small pack of them?"
Tommy grabbed a pack to check. "About 5 euros." The man breathed out a breath of relief. "Great, thanks, can I get like two of them."
Tommy scanned them down, and the man got his credit card to pay. "Dude you sound fucking tired, what is your dad holding hostage to be so desperate for this many shitty copper string?"
"Kid, he's holding my documentary privilege hostage." Tommy couldn‘t help but snicker. "Damn, yeah, I understand why you would be so desperate."
Weird thing to have hostage, though Tommy will never mention that tubbo owned their streaming account and whenever Tommy does something stupid, like try to get shot, he would not let Tommy watch anything about animal documentaries.
Tommy himself has like 2 more days until he can watch Frank the Duck from a long documentary series.
The man pressed his card to the scanner, and on Tommy's side of the counter, he saw the register screen flash the name techno blade craft. "Techno blade craft, that's the most stupid name I've heard." The man, techno, rolled his eyes. "What is your name like Jake that you think a name as mine is stupid."
Tommy huffed. "None of your business, old man, now get out. The longer you wait, your dad is probably getting more and more annoyed. " Techno nodded."Sure, thanks for the help." Then he left. Weird ass anime protagonist looking guy in Tommy's own opinion. Tubbo would also think so. At least, that's what Tommy believes.
Truthfully, it's not the weirdest conversation he had, definitely one of the faster ones. He looked to the counter to see the man left his book here.
"Dumbass really left a book here?" Tommy picked up to feel the material was good. Like the expensive book stores in District 1 or 6.
The thing is that this store was located in district 8. Why is a rich bastard in District 8, and why is he carrying an expensive book? He'll get mugged in no time! Actually, Tommy might ask tubbo to get one of his trinkets to maybe slightly steal a bit.
Listen, Tommy never claimed to be morally good. He's a vigilante, but definitely no hero. If he sees a rich bitch in the middle of the lower districts he doesn't mind asking tubbo to do a bit light thievering.
After all, both of them have a small vendetta against rich assholes for not helping the lower districts to be safer.
Tommy placed the book in the drawer that he and Puffy had access to. Practically, Tommy's only safety box in this entire store. He moved some of his old things to fit the book, he as well forgotten about the number of the things other customers had left, but never returned to get them back.
He really hoped that the dude would come back tomorrow to get the book, or else he's giving it tubbo. He would appreciate it probably or either tell Tommy not to steal lost items. Tubbo would still keep it, though. He isn't any better than Tommy with stealing. They both do it to survive after all.
He locked the drawer and went back to waiting for the sweet release of getting back home.
If he can't close the store early to go out and get dinner with tubbo, he can just grab something for him and tubbo after his patrol. It's not like Tommy could go to sleep at night that well.
Besides usually since his shift is in the morning, when he gets back from work, he takes a good few hours to nap to compensate for the night.
He picked up a pen and fiddled with it, not paying attention anymore, just wanting to go home. Tommy truthfully is too used to his morning shifts that he never wants to deal with evening shifts again, but he'll help ranboo if asked.
Tommy knows he's very kind for taking time out of his sleep schedule to help someone out. It's like he's a vigilante in secret.
When it hits 10 on the clock, Tommy decides to close it an hour early. It's not his fault that whenever he looked outside, it was basically a ghost town besides the guys trying to do a robbery on the jewelry store across the street.
Is Tommy going to help? No, it's a big company jewelry store, and he knows those robbers cause they are bad at being thiefs. They only try to steal from rich folk.
Actually, most people have that same thought for anyone living from the 8th to 12th districts.
Tommy just cleans off some dust from the floor and the dirty shoe prints of people's shoes, he turned off the lights and leaves after leaving the door locked now.
His bike is honestly really good. Did Tommy know that tubbo had secretly somehow installed both a tracking device in it after adding the light to light up Tommy's path?
Actually, he did. Tommy huffed. He remembered it incredibly well because the reasoning of it was because of the same robbery of the bike awhile ago. It's still felt like being put in a room with a baby camera.
It is annoying to have, but not too bad for Tommy to have in his day to day life. He continued to bike his way home for a snack and also for the best part of Tommy's nights.
His patrol hours!
Tommy went into his apartment to see tubbo binge watching another film, jurassic Park 1, on the tv that they bought with a discount.
It's been a week since tubbo decided to relive his favorite movie all over again. This is Tommy's favorite person ever, and yet Tommy's pretty sure the guy would sell him if he got a pack of French fries.
The older boy's hair was noticeable split dyed, the bangs being the same blond hair mimicking Tommy's in the light of the TV.
"Hey, boss man." Tubbo called out, now turning over to look straight at Tommy. "Going on another round of patrols?" He asked with interest in his tone of voice.
Both of them knew the answer. "Of course, big T! I would never not go on patrol when I still have two more nights!"
Tubbo had long ago, when Tommy first started seriously getting into the whole superpower hero and villain bullshit, made Tommy promise something very important.
It was very important, so tubbo still had time to spend with Tommy, to not exhaust Tommy's body too much and to at least keep that horrid sleep schedule that Tommy has afloat. It was for Tommy to only go on patrol for four nights a week.
It is often enough for Tommy to be content, and it was short enough for tubbo to not deal with a wounded roommate too often.
"Hey, tubso. Will you go out with me tonight? You know, like the good old days."
Tommy looked over at tubbo with hopeful eyes, but tubbo just shook his head with a bored look.
"Nah, I'm still not that willing to do this in person again. I'd rather watch the movie. But be safe, okay?"
Tommy rolled his eyes, but he grinned. "Yeah, yeah, I'll be safe, you ass."
The good old days that Tommy had mentioned were about the times when Tommy and tubbo first started out. When they were just two unknown vigilantes.
Tommy remembers those days very fondly because they were when he and tubbo weren't too sure if they should do that, and when they just thought of it as just running around and helping people. Not the running from imprisonment.
The funny thing is, back then, Tommy hadn't even unlocked his power yet, not until a hero tried to capture tubbo and Tommy was not having it.
He's pretty sure that a few days later, he saw a new report on the television about the hero, only regaining his arm movement 5 days later. That day, he realized how strong his powers were really
Tommy looked at the closet in his room and, on its door, hanged his vigilante costume, which Tommy proudly trifted himself.
The big dark grayish green jacket reached his middle calfs with fur on the hood. Tommy is pretty sure he stole it from tubbo years ago. Under shirt was two things.
A sweater with the ugliest yellow and red pairing. To be fair, Tommy never wears it outside of patrol, so no one questions it. The second thing is just a regular shirt with a salmon on it.
After all, fish are very manly and threatening, so it's good to have such a thing as a backup. Mainly cause it was always cold in the city or windy.
His shoes are his usual off brand sneakers and the only pair of blue plaid pants that Tommy has ever owned because of a pajama set. He still has the shirt, actually.
His gloves with only his pointer fingers out, though they had mess around them, so he could still use his power without his fingerprints getting taken.
The finale design was his mask. A black long shaped fabric that went over the bottom half of his face. Like a ninja mask, kinda, he isn't exactly sure about that.
And someone must be wondering. Wouldn't Tommy's identity get revealed by just how different and manly his accent and voice are?
And that someone would be very right if it weren't for the fact, Tommy isn't that bad at speaking in an American accent, so nobody really suspects a random British kid who suspiciously had the same blond hair. Also, there's a small filter in the mask, courtesy of tubbo.
It doesn't matter to Tommy, who is one of the biggest men out there, with the coolest fucking power out there and the best suit that doesn't definitely show how bad Tommy's fashion taste is most of the time without tubbo's or ranboo's help or when he doesn't care how he looks like.
He grabbed the outfit and changed into it. It was quick because Tommy had gotten used to how to be efficient. And soon disc emerged out of Tommy's bedroom, tubbo looked over and couldn't help but snicker.
He always does that. He finds Tommy's ugly vigilante outfit very funny, also very beneficial, it's kinda hard to find out Tommy is disc since tubbo never really let's him out of the house without looking at the very least presentable.
"Good luck, toms!" Tubbo yelled over his shoulders as disc climbed out of the window. Tommy laughed.
"I don't need luck." Tubbo raised an eyebrow mostly cause it hasn't been too long where Tommy almost fell out of the window during his exit from the apartment.
"Sure, no luck needed." Tubbo murmured when Tommy left. He pulled up his cameras on his phone and used the earphones with the mic to be able to connect to the device in Tommy's hood that helped Tommy hear him.
Tommy is practically gliding from building tops, the air screaming in his ear, and yet he doesn't hesitate to leap upwards another tall building.
He makes up. It is a shock how his power isn't practically just extreme luck.
The jump definitely would have killed Tommy if he had fallen and hadn't grabbed the ledge to the building and pulled himself upwards. Joy and adrenaline ran through Tommy's head with no filter for Tommy to know the difference between these two emotions in him.
He ran, jumped, and did everything in his hearts content for the next two hours and a half. He even stopped the robbery of an older woman.
This is the one thing that could get Tommy absolutely relaxed, and it is the best in Tommy's head.
Unfortunately, when he jumped on another rooftop, he met with a hero, which is what tommy assumed since they wore the emblem on their shoulder.
This hero was definitely new if they didn't know how impulse tommy is or that's what the heroes said about him in files tubbo discovered, Tommy genuinely doesn't care for first impressions.
"Disc" The scratchy robotic voice sounded from the person. They had a big black hood, with most of their face being hidden by a large purple scarf and black goggles.
Their sweater was split of jet black and dark purple, same with the rest of their outfit. A pair of purple and black gradient horns stuck out from their head with a long thin tail from behind them.
The amount of purple reminded Tommy of Violet, a very good friend for Tommy, in his patrol persona since the guy is a mercenary. That guy was so annoying, but it was fun to piss off some poor, unfortunate villain with the guy.
"And who are you, bitch?" Tommy asked with a hidden grin on his face. Amusing, this is very amusing to the vigilante.
A new hero just cornering him with no new technology that has never existed to stop Tommy's power, besides the power suppression items.
The hero, surprised by how Tommy is speaking, stayed silent for a few seconds before politely bowing their head.
"I am ender eye. Or just ender fits me, too. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Tommy tilted his head at the bow before he giggled. "Nice to meet you, dude. Now, what are you here for, I assume that if you know my name, you know a bit more about me and why I haven't been captured yet." he hated forcing an American accent but it worked
Ender stiffened. "You do very stupid and dangerous things, at least that's what the file I was given told me. But I'm not here to arrest you at all, at least not currently."
The vigilante stopped himself from speaking. Now he is curious, almost all heroes before this newbie had tried and failed to successfully arrest him or get his identity.
"Oh, then why did your shitty organization send you here. To play patty cake with me?" Disc didn't sound very impressed by now.
"Well, we just want to make sure that you weren't planning on joining any of the villain teams since you are quite friendly with a few of them." Tommy stopped his glaring before shrugging.
Villains, they respected him, and the villains he hangs around rarely killed, unless it was the last option, they rather preferred escape and data collection. Okay, maybe not nymph on her bad days.
"Nah, not my kinda of shit to join. Of course, I am friends with nymph, fox, xxrose, and a few others. But I ain't joining the underground or eggpire or anything else. I'd rather play the duo game with wasp."
Now that he thinks about it, he isn't even sure if Fox was a villain. Tommy's pretty sure he's just a rogue vigilante.
He heard tubbo say 'hell right' in Tommy's earpiece in the hood. They would never exactly leave each other for an organization, that's stupid as fuck.
Ender sighed a sigh of relief when they heard that. "Good. But is there any way I could take you into any sort of custody?"
It was a polite request, but Ender is dealing with disc. With just a blink, disc was already running towards him, quickly poking them with his pointer finger and ender couldn't feel their jaw or their tongue.
The laugh they heard as disc just fucking ran off sent a shiver down his spine.
The guy just fucking muted them in real life. Ender now understood why the heroes avoided disc.
After all, now they don't know when they'll get their voice back cause disc can just decide any amount of time that isn't over a month for his powers to work.
The worst part of this situation was the fact that Ender had powers that are word activated. They hated their teleportation so much, why couldn't they just use their damned mind!
Tommy jumped down into the apartment window and saw tubbo giggling his ass off at Tommy, muting someone. It's been a long while since it had happened before.
"How long will this ban on words be happening, boss man?" Tommy tilted his head, thinking about as he sat down on the couch with a soft thud.
"I think about a day, two days at worst. It's their own fault for randomly encountering me and asking me to be arrested. Even if they were very polite and all that shit."
Tubbo nodded with understanding. "So true, so true. Did you get the food you wanted to have for dinner?" Tommy froze and frowned at tubbo.
Guilt and sadness crossed his face. "Fucking dammit." Tubbo grinned, lightly punching Tommy's shoulder. "Dipshit." He loudly announced at Tommy.
Tommy pouted, annoyed at the other boy who now pushed him off the couch. "Go get dressed into actual clothes, boss man." Tommy glared at tubbo as he stumbled back into his balance.
Tommy didn‘t argue, though. He knew his vigilante outfit was too much for sleeping, even if he's sleeping for just a few hours.
He walked towards his room and went into his regular red and white baseball shirt he used to sleep in and a pair of basic gray sweatpants.
Tommy didn‘t even realize when he had fallen asleep in his bed even though he planned to read more about the weird newbie he met that day.
The night went by quite fast if you don't account for Tommy's weird dream. He always has the same one.
Water surrounding him, yet his hands were trapped by some kelp, and because of the water, he couldn't clearly see or speak at all, just silent ringing of a bell in the distance letting Tommy know this was his usual dream he had long grown accustomed to.
He's pretty sure it was the representation of how it feels to be under his powers. It's similar to what tubbo had said during their experimentation.
The ringing of the bell after quite some time started to fade into his usual song alarm clock.
The song was a mix of a default song in the selection bar and with tubbo adding an obnoxious banging of a steel pipe because that seemed to have woken Tommy after one particularly bad night.
Tommy stayed in bed for ten more minutes. His head ached for a second before he pushed himself to roll onto the ground. He grabbed his phone to look at the message just to see a message from Puffy.
'Hey Tommy, the store is closed for today, I have some business today to take care of. By the way, don't worry, you'll still get paid'
- Puffy.
Tommy stared at the phone before just continuing to lay on the floor. Well damn, it seems Lady Luck was really on his side today.
The blond continued to lay there for a bit, just resting his eyes for now, until he felt tubbo kicking his side gently. "Wake up, boss man. Breakfast time for you, I made scrambled eggs."
Tommy glanced over at tubbo and huffed. The feeling of pulling himself off the floor was of discomfort as he was pretty much content on staying down. It was cold, a comforting cold.
Tommy was never good with heat or small dark spaces or all of them together.
He isn't surprised tubbo seemingly knows that Tommy is staying home, Puffy likes to tell tubbo anything about Tommy if it's important.
After some tug and war with his shirt sleeves, Tommy was at the coffee table, which is shabby in every way possible, however it's been apart of the apartment for so long replacing it with another table from the streets seemed unnecessary.
Even with the mysterious, probably bloody stain from an injury.
The fact that the paint was slightly chipping also didn't make it look any more new.
Tommy stared at the eggs, his stomach growling at him to eat it as fast as possible, yet he's waiting for tubbo, his best friend in the whole world, to give him the ketchup bottle after the other is done using. They need to get a new bottle soon. It's almost empty.
"Are you done yet?" Tommy asked, leaning back on the sofa, tubbo glared at him for rushing the brunette
. After another 20 or so seconds, he gave Tommy the bottle of ketchup, and Tommy had no real reason to make an image on the eggs. He just poured a shit ton of ketchup.
Tubbo couldn't hold back a scowl in disgust. He always did this. He always scowled at Tommy's food crime scene, and this, in fact, made Tommy laugh.
"Watcha staring at, big man." Tubbo just glared at Tommy.
"This is worse than you beating a criminal to a pulp." It made laughter ring through the apartment, which in turn made tubbo break his frown, snickering when Tommy, after his laughing fit, practically inhaled the food.
"You're like a starving stray, boss man."
"Oi! Fuck you too! I'm no stray. You just make good food." Tubbo rolled his eyes. "Mhm sure, definitely not a stray." He looked at Tommy's plate that might actually look like a crime scene after someone got shot. A mini person got shot to be correct, still.
"So, big man, what will the great Tommy innit will be doing today on his first free day besides weekends after 6 months?"
Tommy just shrugged. "Don't know, probably look into recent hero information, especially the newbie. Maybe meeting up with some vigilante buddies or villains."
"Oh, then can I come along if you do? Undying promised me a new device to play with." Tommy nodded. "Sure, we might get some information about nymph, since she's been missing for 2 months now."
"Probably, undying does have excessive information. By the way, you can use my shitty computer for the hero shit, ya know, since I'll be out for an hour to get groceries."
Tommy raised an eyebrow, rare for tubbo to go get groceries. Unfortunately, Tommy didn't get to ask that many questions before the other was already out the door, which slammed shut.
Okay, so tubbo was really acting weird with both going to get groceries and coming along with Tommy to a meeting, but he isn't going to question his best friend. He trusts the other way too much and knows that tubbo wouldn't be doing anything too stupid, probably.
------
Tommy sits at the only desk in their apartment. It's small and filled with both paper and pens, and a computer which Tommy found for tubbo's birthday at a garage sale, and fortunately, it worked back then and still works.
Oh, and that very obvious thingy tubbo was building that might explode into tiny pieces or something.
His roommate's love of explosives is very interesting to Tommy and intimidating.
It took maybe 10 minutes for the computer to boot up, maybe longer, Tommy was scrolling on his phone for any interesting new article, the one about a new hero duo, persephone and manifold, and the new hero ender eye did peak his interest.
Okay, well, he knows what to research now.
This might be much easier than what he assumed. The last time he needed to research a hero was when the hermit heroes introduced another hero and kept almost everything about him away from the public for three months.
He needed to hire a villain for help on that. Gambler fortunately didn't mind doing the job.
When the ding of the computer snapped Tommy from his endless scrolling, he glanced over and opened up the browser that tubbo had set after having to deal with shitty web browsers which is very fair to do, Tommy full heartedly agrees.
Fortunately, the browser was also fully anonymous too.
'Ender eye'
The results were mostly boring news questioning the new hero's identity until Tommy found an actual page about the hero.
Which absolutely was filled with stolen data from either a vigilante hacker or a villain. And the hero Corp probably has yet to find it. After all, it was covered under like 50 useless articles.
"Ender eye a new hero under the syndicate team. He's an escapist hero with vocal teleportation. His main job is rescue heroes, and civilians sometimes even recruit vigilantes on the hero team."
Ah, so the smaller size of vigilantes was because of this guy. It makes sense. Most vigilantes don't wanna deal with stupid offers from the heroes, so sometimes they go into hiding.
Tommy continued reading now, knowing why Ender was so polite to him whilst trying to capture him. Fucking asshole, like he would be that easy to recruit to the heroes.
"He was introduced with persephone and manifold about a month ago. Unfortunately for the heroes, the hero has met the vigilante disc on their third patrol, who currently put the hero on a break until the lasting side effects of disc's power wears off."
Tommy tried to hide his smirk until he couldn't. So that's why Ender was in shock at what Tommy did. Verbal teleportation is definitely a weak power under Tommy's extreme powers.
Though he's shocked that he didn't hear about these three new heroes for a month now. Must have had a silent introduction, nothing new.
The hermit hero team did this usually, though. The syndicate rarely did this.
He clicked on an article on persephone that was linked under Ender Eye's page. After all, he might as well figure out all of his future opponents if they are as stupid as Ender was to suddenly confront him in the middle of his patrol time. When he pulled up, persephone he was met with a picture of the hero.
The woman was in a dark red dress that was flowing. Bits of the fabric were attached to her wrist, but it was clearly made out of strong material the hero Corp makes.
She had the skirt part split in half, the majority was in the back whilst in the front she wore black dress pants that somehow looked matching because of the skeleton and petal designs in them.
The skirt was also not too long, more metal under the fabric that was definitely made to be light but durable. It probably hid weapons, too.
A golden skeleton ribcage and flecks made everything pop. The mask was of a skull, similar to ichors, the number two hero's mask, just with makeup on it, and it looked to be modeled after a human skull and the veil connected to it hid her.
Creepy as fuck, but badass, Tommy must say he's impressed.
He looked over at the description of this new hero just reading it over to know who he would meet whilst on the streets.
'Persephone'
"An attacker hero also introduced under the syndicate team, though in a duo with manifold. Her main purpose is to capture or immobilize the enemy she's facing. Her power is decay. She's able to decay or remake inanimate objects. Though it's not larger than 6 meters and 30 centimeters, if she is able to make skin contact."
Tommy froze up, okay, well, that power is definitely gonna cause problems if suddenly the heroes decide to do actual vigilante hunts and not recruitments.
"She was introduced first a month ago with ender eye and manifold, though it is rumored that unlike the other two, she was a captured vigilante or villain offered the job. Not much is known about her besides the fact that she has only been on 1 patrol since her introduction into the hero system."
Okay, so he might actually need undying not just for hanging around later.
He does need some more information about this hero specifically cause she might cause problems if she decides to target Tommy, or well disc.
The blond sighs out loud to click on the link for manifold. He really hopes the guy is easier to deal with.
Ender is very obviously someone easy to deal with from how Tommy met them, but persephone is definitely someone not to mess with unless he wants to have half his items go POOF and become dust for the wind to pick up and blow away.
Manifold outfit wasn't that flashy, just a striped sweater with armor pieces attached to the shoulders, the chest, his legs, and elbows that glowed with a faint purple hue, probably from that technology called an enchanter.
His mask, though, was a blue and red metallic mask that shifted the colors around in different angles that covered his entire face, cool, basic but still cool.
'Manifold'
"This hero is not so new, as he is the old vigilante mercury who retired 5 years ago to officially start his hero training. He was reintroduced as manifold with ender eye and persephone a month ago under the syndicate team and in a duo with persephone. Unlike his other duo part, he's been on the field 6 times since he was introduced."
Oh, mercury! Tommy grinned. Sure, he wasn't a vigilante at the time mercury was a thing. He's about 2 or so years late for that whole era, but Tommy did like mercury, sure he was a fucking idiot, but a funny idiot to watch on the news.
"His power is named super volt. He is able to create lightning or small shock waves of electricity. He is considered an attacker hero, but he does pride himself in being mainly defensive when he is by himself. Unlike his two new co members, his main role is to be a backup in a big fight."
Fair, Tommy's pretty sure he could just make manifold stop moving for quite a bit if he needed an escape, and Tommy is fast, specifically cause tubbo keeps hiding random new inventions he made in Tommy's patrol costume. Now that Tommy thinks, tubbo has been actively modifying Tommy's outfit and also trying to switch out some pieces of the costume.
Whatever doesn't fucking matter at this point because he heard the door of the apartment open for Tommy to see tubbo, holding a bag of groceries and undying or foolish behind him.
The funny thing is about being friends with the most famous vigilante like foolish. The guy has the most insane honor code with identities.
Also, the fact that he was Tommy's boss' son and Tommy and tubbo were the only ones that know of his extremely illegal hobby and he knew theirs, so their secret is well kept amongst one another.
"So, are we ready? Violet has been nagging me to hurry up on the phone. " Foolish smiled cheerfully at Tommy as he held his phone to his ear. Both of the boys just smiled back at the older vigilante and nodded.
