Chapter Text
There's a firm hand on his waist and soft, soft lips experimenting on him just like a bee would do to a flower, and the taste lingers and tickles the flesh, and L is light-hearted, no pun intended, or maybe yes, it's all very much intended. It's hard to tell the accidental from the premeditated these days.
The kissing part would happen sooner or later, it was pretty obvious. L was not above such investigation methods. What wasn't on his plans was the enthusiasm which invaded him when Light first leaned in. Things are now a bit out of control. L can't really remember when was the last time he was pinned up against cold bathroom tiles and at this point he barely can distinguish investigation from pleasure.
Is pleasure even the right word?
Maybe they should not have drunk. L doesn't even like alcohol and Light is clearly very inexperienced. More than that, no one really knows how the bottle of wine came to be in the communal fridge. Late night snacks leads to can we open this? And subsequently I don't see why not.
And between words about old cases, old criminals, they both slipped into an intimacy as shocking as a friendship between a lion and a gazelle. Not clear, though, which one is which.
The whispers flung in the air and they almost can see the moon from their big windows. They are millimeters apart, sinking into their mattress and it's all so sickening; the familiarity and the strangeness of it all. Light is both just a pretty boy and a mass murderer. He is both insufferable and affable, and he looks too eager to listen to every word L utters, like a student. This is all too sad, L thinks, and he is quite well accustomed to sadness and tragedies. The problem is the lack of distance this time, his safety boundaries, like a scientist and their experiment. He's not used to this. Pretty clear eyes, young cheeks and soft, shiny hair under the yellow light.
"You're too close" he had said, in a last attempt to save it all. Light had a soft smile on his lips
"I am, aren't I?"
And then he got the closest he could be. He kissed L and L kissed back instantaneously, ravenously, and the intimacy gave its seat to a tsunami of build up desire and in the back of his head L was thinking I wish I could save you from yourself
They get all the way to their bathroom between kisses and ragged breaths. Maybe L broke something, or maybe not, but the tiles are cold through his cotton shirt, and Light is so infuriating and explorative when he's given the chance. He's really Kira, or was him, but there's something in the way his fingertips brush L's ribs that could not be made by someone who didn't want to rule the world.
Light's lips were still pure alcohol. And L doesn't even like wine, but he might like it this way.
