Seven years ago, 5% of the population was spontaneously shrunk down to 1/18th of their normal scale. They were classified as Dolls, stripped of standard human rights and protections, and humanity moved on.
Aaron Carver is happy with his life. He's got a good job in a medical drug testing facility, he's got a nice house and an affordable mortgage, and he has a sweet, loyal pet Doll that he rescued from his lab.

Summary
Seawatt doesn't take it back. You do have to be a special kind of person to know you're going to get betrayed and still let it happen. Maybe he feels a little bad for his words and actions at the corners of his mind, but he calms those feelings with mirth. A mocking glare targeted over his shoulder at Evbo is interrupted by a sharp pain that stems from his lower back.
