Dennis stills at that, giving him that same, blank look from before. Robby wants to shut his eyes. He never wants to see it again.
He tilts his head. “Accident?”
“You were—” Robby says, and doesn’t miss the desperation in his own voice. “I just told you. You were in an accident. Don’t you remember?”After an argument about Robby’s resignation from the Pitt, Dennis gets into a car crash that makes him unable to retain short-term memories. Including the fight they just had, and Robby’s imminent departure. It’s up to Robby to nurse him back to health, and choose which truth to tell him.
Or, Dennis gets anterograde amnesia.

He leaned back in his seat, satisfied, and caught the quick smile that flitted across Emery’s lips.
“With Mohan, huh?”
“Yeah, you know, after what we talked about and how we hardly ever work the same shift as her, it might as well be now,” Jack replied.
Emery scoffed, but didn’t refute his claim. They’d bemoaned Mohan hardly working the night shift many a time. “Now? During an MCI?”
“Well, when you put it like that…. maybe it’s a bad idea?” He knew she could never resist a challenge, especially not one with stakes like this. She took Halloween and Mohan very seriously. They both did.

He spared a thought for his boys being chased through the city. Every one of them brave, fearless, breathtakingly loyal, and willingly sacrificed for this golden boy now slung over Sam’s shoulder. Every one of them deserved a bounty like his and yet if any of them died no one but the crew would mourn them.
He looked at the man’s face, peaceful in sleep.
"When your guardians wake up, they are going to rip the world apart looking for you."
He grinned wickedly.
