“Aventurine, this is a classroom,” Ratio informs him.
Aventurine gives a small huff. “I’m aware, Doctor.”
“This is not appropriate activity for a classroom that is university property. This is an academic setting, not a—”
Ratio cuts himself off with a sigh, unable to find the right words as Aventurine hooks a foot around Ratio’s leg to press him against him. He rests a hand on Ratio’s lower stomach as he looks up at him with darkening eyes—this is his seduction technique. It’s never failed him.
“Sorry, Professor,” Aventurine sings. “I just don’t know how to behave myself around you.”
“Please do not use my professional title as a part of your flirtation games.”
“Professor,” Aventurine continues on for the sake of purposeful disobedience. “I really need to get my grade up in this class. Do you think you could give me some extra credit?” He drags his hand up Ratio’s abdomen, watches the way Ratio’s expression twitches into a frown. “I promise I’m a fast learner.”

Ratio smothers his own face with his hand. “Why do I even bother entertaining these whims of yours?” A deep sigh accompanies his rhetorical question. “I don’t know what it is you’re expecting, but I assure you, there is nothing interesting about my dreams.”
“Are you sure about that?”
Ratio pauses. He lowers his hand and stares at Aventurine for a moment. His usually steady gaze is now quivering slightly with hesitation and caution.
