"Kei was weak, and to follow hedonism meant that he needed to not follow a negative lifestyle and do things that would destroy him or cause him pain. But if destroying himself promised him pleasure, at the hands of someone who was built as if he were chiseled in marble like the philosophers’ statues Kei had studied, then maybe he could start his own branch of philosophy where it was acceptable to succumb to immolation if it meant in the long run he’d get what he desired."

Kei, a touch-starved high school philosophy teacher, meets Fuma, the stoic lawyer older-brother of his star student, Harua, at a parent-teacher conference. It's not ethical, nor is it selfish, as Kei's deranged yet philosophical mind rationalizes, to give in a little to the desires seeping through his professional exterior.

Summary
The problem is— as it turns out— Maki is a really normal guy. He’s polite, and clean, and he takes all of Harua’s suggestions in stride. When he comes home late, he’s quiet enough that Harua doesn’t even hear him. He’s kind, and devastatingly sexy, and he’s shirtless more often than not when they’re home. He’s a good roommate.
Harua wants to destroy him. He can’t live like this. He’s a principled man, and principled men don’t fall for men that rejected them already. That’s humiliating.

“You don’t look like the type to be scared of a needle,” Euijoo muses.
Nicholas swallows. Nods. He hops onto the chair, scooting back so he’s not slouching. “It’s not the needle, necessarily. It's the… puncturing?” He squeezes one eye shut after the word leaves his mouth. His charm output is clearly lacking tonight.
Euijoo hums, dropping into a stool. He rolls over to get his tools set up, looking up through his lashes at Nicholas. “The penetration,” he says seriously.
