Pain surged through Arthur’s body as he felt his limbs crumple beneath him, the faint melody of Faroe’s lullaby still ringing in his bloodied ear. Silence stretched out before him, nothing but the familiar darkness behind his eyes there to greet him. And then, laughter. Raucous, obnoxious laughter.
“What a shame,” Yellow mused in his ear, the smooth voice masking a seething anger, "I was hoping the fall would kill you,”
Kayne didn’t honour his deal with Arthur to give John back after their mutual suicide before the King in Yellow, so why would he honour John’s plea to return to Arthur after his genocide in the dark world? Just imagine how interesting things could be…

A 'what if' rewrite of season 3 and 4 where Arthur and Yellow stayed together and Yellow got the character arc he deserved <3

Everything ends when the Blackstone is found, but Kayne refuses to make it easy so Arthur and John get all as promised, except for the way back on Earth. They're separated and all they need to do is to find a way out of the Dreamlands. But... if the terms of the deal are met, where's Faroe?
