“Meow.”
It was hard to hear anything over the rain. Maybe it was just Euijoo’s mind playing a trick on him. Every time it rained like this, he would think of that night so many years ago where he found a shivering kitten taking shelter under a parked car. Maybe it was just that–deja vu.
He continued walking for a few more steps.
“Meow.”
There it was again.
This time Euijoo turned around. In the middle of the street behind him it sat very properly, head held high and tail swung around its paws. The cat was a calico, one ear black and one ear orange.
Or; When he's 9 years old, Euijoo brings a stray cat home, and 20 years later the same cat once again follows him home through the rain.

"Hello, darling." Nicholas puts on his most sultry voice. "How are you today?"
There's a beat of silence as the person on the other end takes a breath. "I'm good. How are you?"
"I'm doing amazing, darling. What's your name?"
"Um… You can call me Juju… I-" Juju hesitates. "Sorry if I'm a bit nervous. I've never done this before."

“Good. I know it’s hard for you but…” Nicholas hesitates. Euijoo looks over again. He’s biting his lip and his brows are furrowed as he looks straight ahead at the road. “If you want to make it easier, I can help you find a heat partner. Or what about someone like Fuma? He’s kind.”
“No,” Euijoo asserts. “He’s mated.”
“Oh, I didn’t know. But there must be someone else out there. You have alpha friends who are women, right? Or even a beta-”
“I said no!” Euijoo is surprised how harshly his words come out. Nicholas looks over again. His eyes are filled with sadness and something else that Euijoo can’t quite place. It’s almost like pity but not quite. “Don’t look at me like that. I’ve said this a million times, I don’t need a heat partner. I don’t want to do it with someone I don’t love, can’t you understand.”
Or; Euijoo goes into heat and has to face his feelings for his best friend.

Before Kei’s own thoughts got the best of her, Fuma turned back around, still scanning the room as if to document every little detail of the bare walls and cardboard boxes spread around the room. “Nah, it was an old man.”
“Don’t tell me he died in here.” Kei felt a chill creep up her back.
“No, he didn’t die here. I saw them roll him out in a wheelchair. I think he just went to a retirement home.” Fuma was now looking at Kei again.
“Thank god.” Kei breathed a sigh of relief, and then they just stood there for a while facing off. “If I heard a ghost at night, I would get so scared. And being here all alone...” Kei tugged her hair behind her ear.
“We can’t have that.” Fuma bit her lip, hesitating. “If you ever hear a ghost, you should call me and I’ll take care of it for you.”
Kei couldn’t help but giggle. “Oh, I’m sure you’d kick that ghost’s ass so hard.”
Or; K moves into a new apartment that may or may not be haunted, but her hot neighbor comes to the rescue.

Euijoo blinked a few times rapidly to clear any of the remaining feeling of sleep, and carefully shifted himself into a seated position. Someone lay in his bed with him, their body too big to be Nicholas in cat form, yet too small to be Nicholas as a human. He looked down.
There was a girl beside him.

Summary
Living with Nicholas is great. They keep their mess to themselves, they don’t make too much noise, and they’re queer, which makes the entire T gel situation much easier to work around, considering they’re on it too.
There’s one habit of theirs, however, that absolutely drives Euijoo up the wall.
Euijoo’s roommate Nicholas is terrible at knocking. Fortunately, it might end up doing them more good than bad.

"Do you want me to go?“ Every word feels wrong.

Summary
If he were to be honest, Nicholas was fully convinced the shy and clumsy persona was a front to amuse the viewers. It's not unusual, to play a role or character; it's far more entertaining that way. So he'd be lying if he said it wasn't the littlest bit jarring. How there's no persona at all. How there's no difference between the EJ he watches on Friday or Saturday and the Euijoo he meets up with all the other days.
Euijoo is EJ. EJ is Euijoo. Nicholas kind of feels devastated.
