An Alternate Universe where Emily Charlton is a renowned lawyer and senior partner of Miranda Priestly. Andrea Sachs is a journalist working at the Gotham Gazette. Andrea is asked to cover a trial about ecological issues, where Emily and her team are defending the opposite side. Andy's sharp and scathing daily updates on the trial (and Emily) bring the pair to hate each other, tension and frustration building.
One day, a few months after the trial ended, the 'Priestly-Charlton' law firm catches fire on a random workday. Firefighters are sent to the scene. An unexpected and dramatic reunion takes place.

Summary
Emily Charlton and Andrea Sachs have been dating for approximately a year and 5 months. This fact is unbeknownst to anyone at the Runway offices. Nigel and Miranda have reached the end of their patience and decide the two girls have been walking around one another for far too long. They eventually came to the conclusion that the two were in dire need of a push to start the engine of their relationship. The matchmaking duo had no idea the girls were already in an established relationship. Thus, their plan of making Emily Charlton jealous and in turn pushing the two in to each other's arms backfires, as Emilys insecurities only spur her to push Andrea away.

Emily and Andrea are in a secret relationship. Emily gets jealous, they fight about it, they have sex. They make themselves public.
