A sob catches in his throat, and another wracks his whole body. He shakes with the weight of his own death.
The blood closes in on him. He secures the life jacket to the black box and asks his mother in the afterlife to keep it safe. He wonders if she did. He will never know.
Then, the blur clears from his vision. His tears are forgotten about if only for a moment.
He’s in a meadow, watched over by hundreds, if not thousands, of stars on a backdrop of painted clouds of dust incomprehensibly ancient. The Milky Way galaxy, come to look down on him from a cloudless night sky. A lone white moon sits full and bright as its pupil. A breeze catches his hair and his face with a nip of cold; a gentle touch that tells him do not worry. You are free now.

Simon wakes from death to an earthly forest. A month before, Ava finds herself in a junkyard, far from any civilization. When Simon finds her, they come to an agreement to cooperate for survival. Over time, they reconcile with their past. Then, they open up.
Still, they have questions. Namely, where are they? Why are they here? And what is that strange smoke in the distance?

With the tensions growing higher and past wrongs coming to light, Terzo finds himself leading the charge in defense of Ghouls.

This is the most invested I think I've ever been in any fic, literally gnawing on the words its so insanely good. Also I'm biased and all the characters are so well written but as a genderless entity this interpretation Chain is my favourite. Genuinely though I reread this most days I swear I'm going insane over Fog Weaver.

Omega just wanted out of the hellhole that was his first-year dorm. What he didn’t expect was to end up rooming with the Terzo Emeritus—campus heartthrob, academic terror, and the boy who made half the engineering cohort cry last semester. Terzo wears silk robes, speaks Latin before breakfast, and definitely shouldn’t be paying attention to someone who does ghost tours for beer money.
But somehow, they start orbiting each other: non-dates, emotionally charged printer encounters, soft mornings, loud friends, and more stolen glances than either of them will admit to. And somewhere along the way, pretending not to fall becomes harder than just falling.
