Summary
Somewhere through the blurry haze, there’s someone calling her name. It's distant, a familiar voice, layered beneath a metallic clanging that slices through her aching skull.
As she’s pulled from her chair, Lucy knows she should fight back, but she can’t—her body feels like dead weight. She’s dragged until her torso hits a solid edge.
The world refuses to come into enough focus to make sense of anything, but she still hears that voice, and holds onto it like it's an anchor. It's hoarse, desperate, terrified, it’s—
Tim. Oh, God, it’s Tim.
She’s barely managed to pull the pieces together before her head is plunged underwater.
Or:
What if the man who came to Tim’s door wasn’t just passing on a message? What if he was dangerous, and Tim and Lucy ended up in harm’s way? A kidnapped!Chenford 714 canon divergence. -

Summary
Balancing her supplies in the crook of her elbow, she steps forward with a smile, holding out her hand. “Lucy Chen. I’m the new psych teacher.”
The man glances at the classroom door behind her, where her name is now proudly displayed. “I figured,” he says. It’s not disapproving, or dry, or warm. It’s just… a fact. He stares blankly at her hand for a second before begrudgingly giving it a shake. “Tim Bradford. History.”
“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Tim.” She motions at the short distance between their classrooms. “I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot of each other this year.”
Or:
When Lucy starts her new job teaching high school psychology, she's pretty sure she’s going to spend her school year barely tolerating the cold, closed-off history teacher across the hall. That’s not quite how it works out, though. A teacher!Chenford AU. -

Summary
“Hold on—” The sigh Lucy lets out is ragged, her voice tightening with stress. “How many people think Tim and I were late because we were having sex?”
Momentarily taking her eyes off the road, Celina shoots Lucy a look loaded with sympathy. This is a level of naivety she’s never seen from her sergeant. “Girl, please.”
“Celina—!”
“You weren’t exactly subtle about it.”
Lucy drops her head into her hands with a low groan.
Or:
Tim and Lucy weren't late because they were having sex this time, they swear. S8-era domestic Chenford fic. -

Summary
“Miles said you seemed to know the woman,” Lucy says, placing a hand over his.
Tim pauses.
Know is a strong word. One that he isn’t sure applies here.
He knew her, once. A long time ago. She cooked him dinner and bought him and Genny ice cream in the park and silently handed him ice packs when his bruises looked particularly bad. He kissed her cheek after she dropped him off at football practice and promised her it was okay as she drove him to the emergency room with a broken rib—even listened when she suggested he tell them he’d tripped down the stairs.
But nothing good lasts in a house like that.
Or:
Tim encounters a familiar face on a call, and soon realises he's going to have to confront the past he thought he'd made peace with. -

Summary
“Sergeant Bradford.”
He blinks. The reflections of bloodstained water fade from the walls until the tunnel dissolves entirely, giving way to one of the station's interrogation rooms.
“Hm?”
Sat across from him is a detective Tim doesn’t think he recognises, sympathy pinching the corners of her eyes.
“We want to figure out who was responsible,” she says. “I just need you to tell me anything you can remember, anything you might have seen before you found Sergeant Chen.”
His mind draws up buzzing static. Vague shapes and silhouettes.
“I don’t… I don’t know.”
Or:
Lucy dies, and everything fractures. 810 alternate ending. MCD warning.
