Summary
Shoko keeps asking him if they fell out because of a fight, or something. He assures her it’s much simpler than that:
Satoru moved to Kyoto for university, and Suguru stayed in Tokyo. They didn’t really keep in touch.
Sad, sure— but such fates are met by plenty of childhood friends.
(He knows Shoko texts Satoru a lot, knows they kept in contact— and he wonders if she asks him the same question: Did you have a fight?
He wonders if Satoru gives her a different answer.)

Or: Despite all the memories coloring their childhood, at twenty-four, Suguru hadn't seen Satoru for years. And then he's there, again, in his life, abrupt and distracting and mesmerizing like a snowstorm, and Suguru has a lifetime or feelings he seems to have gotten too old to ignore.

Summary
He watches, almost in slow motion, as the stupid, most haunting pair of amber eyes look behind Shoko, focusing on him.
The worst part is how Satoru tracks every minuscule crinkle of his eye. How he watches recognition fill his gaze, watches the muscles in his brows relax as his gaze softens. Watches for signs, tells, that he’d recognize, and horribly, finds them.
Watches, maybe in horror, a soft smile come across the features that he still sometimes sees when he’s been staring at the backs of his eyelids for too long.
“This is my friend from uni,-“ Shoko, oblivious, starts, and Suguru interrupts her.
“Satoru.”

“…I don’t think I should let you back into my life.” Satoru mumbles, a little sleepier, after some time.
“…I understand.” Suguru whispers, not letting go, as if he’s savoring every second Satoru is going to let him have like this.
“I think I will anyway.” Satoru whispers back.

Summary
He knew he had no right to be this annoyed about it, because he'd done the exact same thing with Chan, after all. Leaned in, let their lips barely touch, heard the fans scream. Done it with zero issue, because it was work, because it was expected, because Chan's face so close to his was familiar and entirely, completely platonic.
He knew that. Logically. Intellectually. In the part of his brain that was a reasonable, well-adjusted adult.
But the other part — the stupid, lizard, possessive part of his meat head — was currently replaying the image of Changbin's mouth so close to Felix's on a loop, and it wanted to bite something.
So he didn't look over. Didn't speak. Just watched the darn water and city lights outside and pretended he was above all of this.
(He was not above any of this.)
After watching each other kiss other members during the fanmeeting pepero game, Hyunjin and Changbin spend the ride home in petty, jealous silence, until they get home and find other ways to communicate.

"Trying to get me drunk?" Hyunjin teased, though his voice came out quiet, soft as it became only in the presence of a certain man.
"Maybe." Changbin’s reply was low, casual in a way that wasn’t quite casual at all. His eyes found Hyunjin’s, searching for something and holding it tight when he did. He clinked their glasses together gently then, a faint curve tugging at his mouth. "Just making sure you remember… tonight, it’s only us."
The words settled over Hyunjin like a warm hand, pressing tender but certain between his shoulder blades.
Or, the one where they just moved in together and decide to properly break in the house.

The thing about Seungmin is that he has always measured himself by what’s right and what’s wrong. Hyunjin felt tears begin to fall, but he didn't know what to do with the emotion welling up in his chest. "I..."
"And worry not if it's Chan and Jisung making you feel this way. Jisung is more reserved—he might open up eventually, but for now... how can I phrase this? He and Chan were the first members of Mizar. It's natural that he feels threatened by the inherent authority you bring."
Seungmin took Hyunjin's hand in his own, and when Hyunjin looked up, Seungmin's eyes had softened considerably. "Ah, don't cry, Your royal highness. You look too beautiful when you do."
