Scott woke with his face pressed flat to the library desk.
That hadn't been an usual phenomena for a while, not since most of Vulpes disappeared. Eloise soon made her appearance as well, having been trapped in a cupboard, and was instantly on board with helping Scott as much as she could when she heard the news.
Melinks also became a more frequent face, but wasn't too interested in academics, on account of not being the most well-educated. She still made sure that Eloise and Scott were always fed and hydrated, like some kind of angel sent from the heavens to help workaholics specifically.
The help was appreciated. It made him feel just a little bit stronger. But it wasn't enough.

That's why he sometimes sneaks out at night, but he's pretty sure Olsted knows and just doesn't bother him about it. His mentor doesn't… he doesn't particularly care about him, but that's okay.
The stars are too beautiful to ignore.
