Summary
Harry finds himself in the liminal space between Martinaise and actually having to be Harry Du Bois again. He needs to return to his apartment, and his job, and his life, but the prospect is terrifying; everything that was once him is everything he can't allow himself to be ever again. Kim helps him make the transition, and Harry pines wildly over him. They eat food and talk about the homo-sexual underground. Harry tries not to cry a lot.

Martin comes to three quiet realisations as he hears the damp voice calling out his name next to him. Each of them swells with a stricken immobile rage that peaks in the centre of him, and then crashes fruitless on the empty shores within him. Because of course that’s how this would end. He's always quietly known this, if he's being honest with himself.

Jayce pulls him up till he’s sitting, bringing him to his chest and holding him closer. It seems cruel to think of separating, even by an inch. “I love you,” he says, because it’s true. Because Viktor needs to know. Because the words have been trying to burst from his throat since the minute they woke up. “I should’ve told you before we- I mean. I should’ve said. I didn’t want to die without you knowing. I don’t know why I didn’t. I love you. I’ve loved you.”
Viktor lets out a choked gasp from where his head is buried in the crook between Jayce’s neck and shoulder. “What?”
